This is a pretty standard practice for all sorts of businesses. It would be unusual *not* to do it.

Uh, most of them? The 1200 and the 500 are and were the most popular Amigas and I'm sure some users would be interested in having mice, mouse pads, dust covers, etc., that match. That's the market AmigaKit is going after.
Not weird, just silly, counter productive and a waste of time and money.
(I notice that the word "conspiracy" has been misused quite a bit lately in amiga land, time to include it in the amiga buzzword bingo.)
I'm using the word "conspiracy" facetiously because of the constant drama around minor product announcements and the paranoid suggestion that they're all part of some Machiavellian long-game for legal influence.
