Soooooo... in all my enthusiasm to get my rebirthed A3000 up in running (how excited I was to have OS3.9 fully working), I forgot to remove the power jumper from the card when I put it in the computer.  That, in itself I don't believe is a crime, but trying to update the firmware while it is in the computer WITH the power jumper installed is a crime.  Lukas suggested I might have fried the level translators but I don't have the necessary rework tools (or skills to use them) to try to fix it... yet.  I knew something was wrong when the PCD-50 activity lights were on and the computer's power was turned off... never dawned on me that the usb port would actually powerup the +5V feed of the Amiga.

So, if anyone has one that they really aren't using, I'd be interested in purchasing it from you (at a reasonable price) rather than going back and buying another.
