The 1581 Demo/ Utility 3.5" disk is a forgery. The original CBM floppy casing is dark blue. The label in the photo is very poorly reproduced and the floppy cover has a Memorex logo.
Maverick V5 copy utility 3 disk set is also a copy as the original 5.25 discs did not have a notch and, if I remember correctly, white plastic.
The Little Computer People appears to be authentic. Poor photograph. Hard to tell.
If I could get to my C=64 stuff and would be able to verify.

Based on other items poorly reproduced lables, I'd say this guy is....  ARRGH! A PIRATE!

Put some cream on it, it works for Gertsy... :D

You can get cream off the doctor for that you know, it ain't fatal (well unless it kills you and that can be bad sometimes)... :)

I know you can get milk from anything with nipples, but "get cream off the doctor"?

Probably can't be certain until you buy and receive the item. There's been many stories over the years with complaints about items delivered from ebay that didn't always match what the auction advertised.

And if that that raggedy single floppy of MULE is considered VERY rare, then that must make my copy inconceivably rare. ;)

@Plaz

I've seen used (but complete with packaging) M.U.L.E sell for over $50 on eBay.  Your guess is as good as mine for the value of a sealed one.  Very nice!

I remember buying a load of gx4000 roms only to find they were really bad obvious fakes.  Still worked though.

This seller on eBay offers a variety of Amiga and C64 stuff.  Take a close look at the rare C64 disks that he sells.  He seems to have an endless supply of some rare titles.  No original disk sleeves??  You be the judge: Genuine or Fake?

Anything declared "rare" on ebay I don't believe 99% of the time.  The amount of "rare Amiga 1200s" I see on there is ridiculous.

BTW: M.U.L.E. looks authentic as its label has that actiplaque shit going on. You know... where it looks like a greasy fat fingered clumsy thumbed bastard handled it way too many times.

If you think they're fake, don't buy them! That's easy, isn't it?
I've bought from this seller more than a couple of times, and everything has been above board.
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)

If you voted "genuine," it's time to note that he is still going strong with dozens of the same disks with the questionable labels and white sleeves.  Give it another full month to see how many more such disks he has?

@Plaz - A sealed copy of mule came up once in the last 5 years, if I recall it sold for $300-350 dollars.

Did anybody message Wayne on ebay? He will likely tell you if you ask. Generally most of the stuff he sells is legit/original. He now has a license to legally produce jiffydos roms from Jim Brain.

Not true actually.  Sealed copies of MULE have popped up from time to time in the past two years on Ebay and go for between $150 and $200.  There have been one or two in the $300 or so range, but generally that's when a bidding war breaks out between two collectors that have to have it right now.  The Atari 800 version is even more in demand as it is the one Dan Bunten considered to be the most similar to his original concept and it allows for four joysticks to be used at once.

You can buy all the stuff you need to easily make C64 cartridges from ebay, it's usually the guys selling the fake cartridges who'll sell the stuff to make your own cartridges... :)

PS: I should know, I bought the bits'n'bobs to give it a try and it work perfectly... ;)

Hi,

You are correct sir, but then who is it to say that it is illegal, the machine is dead, the company who made it is dead, and the software companies who have developed for this machine have forgotten about it, plus their is a statue of limitations on software where after so many years it goes to the public domain.

so ends the tail of illegal software. (I think, therefore I am, an idiot of course)
