Anybody ever play with this kind of stuff on the CSPPCs? Same idea?

I'm going to try to put 604e 300MHz into Cyberstorm and hope to have 330MHz speed running stable with standard cooling.
Proper processors are one way to me already :)
I will keep you posted about Cyberstorm upgrade progress.

I have no intention to experiment with other processors type as it might be unstable/impossible/kill the processor/kill CSPPC board/kill both.

I don't care to kill the processor, but I don't want to sacrifice my CSPPC for sure! :afro:

another problem has been found and removed,this will improved performance and set another new record for classic amigas PPC.

...

i will be doing upgrades in late march,i just need to find and fix the last remaining problem on the A1200 motherboard.

all Blizzard PPC cards upgraded by me will get the FULL upgrade.
Great! Keep us posted on how you get along :)

im not going to give anything away anymore as i spent a lot of time and money and i want to see some return.

all im going to say is that it for the Blizzard but it now drags the Cyberstorm in as well. (im almost sure it`s going to need a software update).

NOTE: my Blizzard cards have a nasty hack which allows me to have a FPU on the A1200 motherboard so i don`t have to remove the co-processor on the A1200 motherboard.

so when the Blizzard card is disabled by holding down the 2 key,the A1200 020/FPU becomes active. this hack will be on my cards only untill it improves.

there will be one month testing before anything is released.

i don't know if morph OS will do a small update but i will contact HYPERION and push for this update as i feel it very important.

if morph OS team still support the classic amiga please contact me via pm i think it will be a small rewrite of the software or maybe its already in the software as i never tried morph OS.

What kind of software update are you refering to?

Unfortunately there is no support ny MorphOS team for MorphOS PowerUP (MorphOS for classic Amgas) any more.

And I doubt that Hyperion will care about any kind of update for 4.0 classic. They are focused ito this X1000 stuff right now.

Well, at least MorphOS for the classics has a SCSI driver for the 1200 ppc card.

blizzard ppc speed test OS4.0  now can someone with a cyberstorm 233 do the test.

Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (float)
time needed 16023ms for 413696 samples, => .292731136083602x speed @44100Hz/stereo
Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (integer)
time needed 13450ms for 413696 samples, => .3487309217453x speed @44100Hz/stereo
Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (integer handoptimized 68K ASM)
time needed 10865ms for 413696 samples, => .431700944900512x speed @44100Hz/stereo

BRAND NEW WORLD RECORD for a Blizzard card.

Hi All,
I've managed to upgrade another two boards :-)
To eliminate BGA soldering problem to zero I decided to change PPC processor with help of professional service center.
My tools are ok, but why not use better if it's possible?

And another 2 movies:

Cards after upgrade:

http://picasaweb.google.com/stacho100/BlizzardsPPCAfterUpgrade#

I used MC68060RC60 with mask 71E41J (rev 6) working natively at 60MHz taken-out from some industrial CPU boards; on the center of CPU you can see mark from heatsink glued onto 060 (I've took the heatsinks out of course).

As it was expected; Blizzard PPC with SCSI version cannot work with 060 clock higher than 50MHz :-(
I was trying even to erase Serial Number  with flashing with "Force" option on one board to see if this will disable the onboard SCSI controller, but unfortunately this is not the case...

So bad news for Blizzard PPC with SCSI users (603e+): your card cannot work with 060 clock higher than 50MHz...

If someone is really not using SCSI in the desktop case maybe the best option for him is to remove onboard SCSI.
By doing so it's possible to increase 060 clock to 66MHz, and having very good RAM even higher frequencies are possible :-).

@stachu100

That isn't entirely correct though as I have a perfectly working 603e+ with 060@66MHz, working also @75MHz if I remove one of 2 128mb simms. 060 isn't even rev.6, it's rev. 5. SCSI works fine of course reaching almost the bus limit of 10MB/sec (9,7MB raw read according to drivespeed utility).

So, maybe there are other factors limiting the clock speed in your case.

Well, the cards which I have just refuse to work even with 60MHz oscillator and different memory config with even no memory at all (checked several times).
Always get SetPatch error...
Your post is very interesting, I will dig more about it; thank you!

Yes, 66 Mhz shoud work with SCSI also, but results may differ:

you are correct. there are many things that affect the card,and im going to tell **all** Blizzard PPC owners.

here i have very high speed cct on my Blizzard card and possibly 99.99% of you have the wrong type of simm(s) for VERY HIGH SPEED cct. some of you may have the correct simm(s) but don't even know it.

look at that speed test it's a *new** world record set yesterday and my Blizzard has a SCSI. every time i fix a problem the card gets faster.

every day im finding and removing problems this will only improve any cards i release.

it has taken me 3 years to iron out most problems,and there are still one or two remaining.

 you can not put a 300Mhz processor on a card and think thats it. what about timing issues. i dont get any lock-ups none whatsoever but i can see timing issues. most programs will work fine,but i use a set of programs looking at timing issues.

@delshay

You mention a speed test, yet I don't see anything. Maybe something's missing in your post? Plz check it as I'd be interested to see it. :)

iv typed BRAND NEW WORLD RECORD in the posting,you can see old results by clicking on a link in this thread.

OS3.9 also gains a new speed increase all programs works fine no errors.

Thank you very much!
Yes, SCSI is working even with 72MHz :)

Just quick playing with SCSI settings is enough to have it working.
