He lost his marbles.
He maybe crazy, but not as the one who buys it.
If I were rich and was designing a new Amiga, I would buy it.
 :-D

And what if he does sell it? Will you call him "wacky" then?

He will eventually lower the price 'cause it will NOT sell.
I think a price around $1000 would be ok.

Actually, I don't blame him. That's still cheaper than it cost originally, and these things are incredibly sought after, especially as this is the top of the range and even has the 060 overclocked.

If he sold it I wouldn't be amazingly surprised, but I think he'll lower it to $1000 eventually.

Why do you consider "this dude is completely mental" and the card to be "rudiculously overpriced"?

I really am curious...

He's not mental, He's just evil. He knows that one of the mental people around here will pay that much for it.

Actually that price is high even by 1998 standards. I picked up my CSPPC for $850. This was of course after the announcment of the Abox, or some other vaporware PPC Amiga which de-valued the cost of the PPC cards for about 10 minutes back then.

Some tech company out there has to see this and think either these guys are bonkers or heck lets make PPC amiga cards.

Is it possible to make a FPGA cpu card with a software 020 overclocked? If the FPGA is powerfull enough can a graphics card be included?

Well it is the cream of all accelerators and at the rate prices are rising it isn't an insane ammount. Then again i'm using a non PC (sort-of) machine at 233Mhz and it's miles cheaper with just as much fun i'd say.

The card is ridiculously overpriced because it's not worth that much, even if some fool will pay it. You can buy a G4-based AmigaOne for that price! Why would you want to upgrade a system when you could put a second one next to it and have both for the same price?

The guy is mental because, imnsho, it's immoral to try to rip someone off for that amount of money. [Usury is a sin, you can look it up if you like!] As this seller obviously doesn't care that he's doing wrong [I have a hard time believing that he doesn't _know_ he's doing wrong] his behavior borders on sociopathic. Just my opinion, of course, but since you're so 'curious' there it is.

It's an AS-IS item. If it don't work, you just flushed that $1000 down the toilet. Sorry, but without any assurances at all of any kind that thing thing might actually work, then it's not worth more than a couple hundred $$. To me anyway. I paid $700 for one that I was assurred worked fine. A few years ago.
