Amiga was cool because it could do pretty much everything the others could do, AND do things that they could not or were not good at. The "alternative" aura was not as important as the ability to do anything a Unix guy could port over, etc. And killer games were just frosting.
So if the OS were modernized such that the software base became available (modern browser, all plug-ins, maybe a version of Open Office) then absolutely. I'd rather it NOT be an abstraction layer on top of Windows. Then it would be faster, too. Whether Intel makes the CPU is no longer relevant IMO.
