Original Amiga PSU is not that bad. I have never seen a broken big box PSU in an Amiga.

Well, I bet all the individual components would set you back $1500. A CSPPC alone recently went for about $800. Add to that the fact that this is NOS, in pristine condition with all of the original packaging, and I don't think it's a bad price.

If I had £2000 to spare I'd buy it without a second thought.

To be honest, if I had won the lottery (and no I am not being funny) I would snap that up in a second.
Its not many systems like that you see on eBay these days.

I agree.  I would snap it up also.  You aren't gonna see one like that once a year.

tbh i reckon if i won the lottery i`d snap it up too, although i`d want him to deliver it for that kinda dough hehe. Mind you I guess if you wanted to get a 4000T and install the same parts by buying them individually from say fleabay it would cost a damn site more. Impressive machine though. Just a shame Amiga commands such a high price these days compared to other retro hardware. Perhaps one day i`ll own a bigbox or tower Amiga myself *sigh*

But that is a DCE PPC card!  I wouldn't touch that with a 100 foot pole.  It will die, period.  Those DCE cards suck...  Mine died and it is somewhere in Germany now and I never got anything back from it so I am out $800...

It's a lot of money, but hey, if it fills your needs...

I know, I paid a stupid amount of money on a Buffy statue, and she's just standing about doing nothing (ok, it's the largest statue ever made so..)

Same with cars, if I had the money I'd pay top dollar (or is it Euro these days  :-P ) for a mint condition black 1963 split rear window Corvette Stingray. And I don't even have a drivers license   :-D

He deserves to get what he`s asking!  :-)

Where else u gunno go buy a Brand New Still Packed Amiga 4000T? C`mon...where! :-?

Enuff said & fair play to the fella. I shall be asking for some amazing prices for some of my Kit soon, but just where else are you gunno get it? The Amiga will always have it`s dedicated followers.

Looking back the the history of "StillTheHardest" & his most recent plethora of eBay Ads, one can only say "WOW". Every Ad he has placed has been with a starting bid. This A4KT is "Buy It Now", meaning, he prolly don`t give a Rats Ass about selling it or not. He couldn`t ever replace it, making it worth more than a measly 4000 bucks!

Everything in life is only worth what someone is willing to pay! Amigas are no different.

Very Best of Luck to the Guy. He deserves it! :-D

*edit*

He even includes an Un-modified Drive Mount Plate for your convenience. What a Star!  :-)

I'd pay that for that in a heartbeat.  It seems like a lot of money, but look what you get.  Try and beat it.

Well, gone is that brief period where you could grab people's Amiga hardware for pennies in the pound. It's an enthusiast's platform now and hardware's rare, particularly such as what this guy is selling.

If I had the money to spare, I'd buy it. And you can't guarantee SOMEONE among us will have the money to spare, so my guess is it'll sell.

If you calculate the cost of those components sold seperately these days then it's not so high really. And to have them all in one complete, nicely boxed package is worth the slight premium.

Absolutely. Who cares whether you know if it works or not, as long as you can be the first to unpack it.

@Braddo

When you buy a new car do you assume it's never been used before? When you buy a pair of jeans you do assume they've never been worn? Haven't you ever taken a car for a test drive? Haven't you ever tried on a pair of jeans in a store? Do you think the seller discards these items when you've tried them rather than selling them to someone else? Do you say, "Hey, I saw that other guy trying these jeans. I want 50% off!"?

As for Amiga hardware I wouldn't buy something unless the seller had tested that it actually worked.

*IF* I had the money, I'd buy that in the blink of an eye.  Unfortunately, I don't.

As for price, well, I'd say that it's about right given the levels that PPC accelerators are going for...

Sure it's a lot of money for an old computer, but it is without doubt the best specified Amiga going and if I were putting together my dream specification Amiga, that'd be it.

Well, apart from I'd hack it into a 3000 desktop case :D (yes, I know it won't fit, but I like my Amigas to look like Amigas)
Celebrating 21... no, make that 27... years of Amiga use
