Wow... This guy is proud of his A4000T
« on: February 11, 2008, 02:33:41 PM »
Here is a link to a "new" a4000t

http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-NEW-Amiga-4000T-with-Cyberstorm-PPC-68060-233Mhz_W0QQitemZ180214826934QQihZ008QQcategoryZ4598QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

At $4000, he is mighty proud of this puppy! Can we say "cashing in on the availability of OS4???)

Well, good luck to him! I hope he gets his dough for this puppy!

Holy crap! That's one hell of a computer. And one hell of a price tag. Crazy as it seems, I also think it will be sold. Just look at what the last AmigaOne mobo went for. This A4000T is probably even more coveted.

Sadly, I think this Amiga might actually sell for that amount (or close to it).  That is the state of things today (or the madness).

He's got an extremely clean & (once) powerful system, and his e-bay auction page is meticulous.

Yeah, I bet it sells too.  Everything else he has been listing has been selling.  This looks like an awesome unit.  I wonder what everything in this tower sold for when he bought it new?  At $4000 he is probably still taking a loss.

If a used AmigaOne board can sell for $2300 I have no doubt a new A4000T with all the goodies will sell for more.

Yeah right.. As if anyone would pay $4000 for that "new" machine. Possibly if he hadn't of opened it & f**ked around with it, but the fact that he has lowers its value considerably.

What he has done is effectively the same as owning a brand new never driven car and driving it just before selling it. What an idiot.

Are you saying an unopened A4000T is worth more than a maxed out one like this is?

I think it's going to sell for some mad money, because for the Amiga owners I've seen, they would be more then happy for him to have opened it up to put all those goodies in there.

When the gas prices were really high in the states, a used hybrid went for more then a new model of the same car. Why? Because the one model was physically available. That's why it will sell, because all that hard to get stuff if available.

I don't mind paying the right price for hardware, but even I would baulk at $4000!
I would be too scared to even plug the thing in when it got home, let alone use it!
(Plus it would cost me more than just cash, as I imagine my better half would walk away with something more sensitive than my wallet if I brought this home)

Original Amiga PSU is not that bad. I have never seen a broken big box PSU in an Amiga.
