I mentioned this in the item description, yes it's got a darker patch under the GPU chip. It's not damaged/cracked/anything like that though, just darker with the heat. I've seen a couple of pictures of other CVPPCs with this. It was sold to me like this, and it didn't affect its operation.

Rather I just threw it out and didnt offer anyone else a chance to have it?

Jeez... I used this card just before I had the chance to get a GRex board and it was a fantastic card. I'm only selling it because I no longer use it and I'm sure someone else out there would love to own one.

EDIT:
Closeup of the area in question is here:
http://lavaburn.untergrund.net/images/misc/cvppc-closeup-darkpatch.jpg

It's just a discoloration, nothing's "burned" at all. All the traces look good.

I'm an honest guy, and I wouldn't be selling something I didn't believe to be working. As stated in the item description, as soon as I get some free time, I'll dismantle my Amiga and install the card to make sure it's definately still working. Also as stated, I'll accept a return if it's DOA for whatever reason.

I'm not out to get anyone. All I'm interested in is a happy customer who's over the moon having just bought one of the nicest Amiga graphics cards you can get. I stand by my auction all the way. :-)

Sorry mate, I do :-) Now that I'm confident that the GRex is working exactly as I want it, I'm letting go of the things I no longer need.

I WILL have an X-Surf ethernet card for sale soon, though!  :-)

That line is a reference to a certain individual in Germany who sold a Picasso IV and the buyer found it DOA and missing the snap-off scandoubler or something. I read about it on here a while ago.

Why is it that there's always someone complaining whenever a bit of Amiga kit goes out for sale on eBay? I mean, I could just stash this card and no-one would be able to use it. I am  aware of dodgy sellers on eBay as anybody is, so I'm trying to make anyone interested in my auction feel comfortable buying it. What the hell is wrong with this forum?

Are you saying you're banning me from your auctions? Eh, boo hoo. I rarely buy Amiga stuff these days anyway, my project's complete. Lighten up.

If I ever go flat broke, then the GRex *MIGHT* go out for sale.

But come on guys, the thread's about the Cybervision, not my Grex!!

Well, on a more personal level I've been scammed by two separate people in Germany, one was to do with Amiga-related items. One I never got my money back, the other I had to threaten publically before I got a response. It was resolved, but took a lot of time and effort.

I don't have anything against German people, but needless to say, I've been put off and generally avoid auctions/sales from around Europe if I can.

I nearly made this auction UK-only, and wrote that with that in mind, but reconsidered seeing how many Amiga users there are internationally who might be interested.

Since I realise now how a sense of humour is something you just cannot have on this forum, I apologise, but the item description can't be changed, I'm afraid.

Sorry to hear that :-( those cards are like hen's teeth, too.

Ever thought about sending it to that guy in France who brings all sorts of Amiga hardware back to life? You could then sell it on and make a very nice sum of money, if he were able to repair it. :-)

Jean-Jacques Boulet :-)

I haven't had to use his services myself yet (thankfully) but there are many people on here who swear by him and he has a pretty good reputation. :-)

Hi to those interested in the card (if any).

I've added a big update to the end of the item listing with some pictures of the card working and some notes on the card. Please take a look if you've been watching this auction.

Thankyou! :-)
