yea he does get vulgar..but I have no problem replying in return.  I wont post the emails here but I"ll dig a few up and put them on my website.  I've wanted to create a Amiga page but my site is mostly for important stuff like drag racing/family stuff..  I'll see what I can do.

No point in playing the vulgarity game. It only makes one look as bad as the other.

not in my eyes.  It depends on who's right and who's wrong.  I prefer to fight fire with fire.

my emails from him are more entertaining.

@A3kGT:
it would be much easier to read if you deleted out all the ebay trailers etc etc.

I dont fault him for not taking Paypal.  Paypal does suck.

I had TWO people defraud me of my item and my money through Paypal so now everbody suffers.  One person was allegedly a "Judge" from New York.. (but lives in a apartment?  guess they dont pay the judges enough up there)

Paypal will refund your money in such situations. Just one of many reasons why it does not suck.

You dont have enough experience with Paypal then.

I sold a Amiga 4000 Toaster setup on ebay. He paid with credit card that was registered through Paypal.  He said that the system was never recieved and "may be damaged" because the box was beat up.  Well long story short the A4000 works (I did some research and found out he was a member of a Amiga club in NY which has a online message forum. lol.. so I registered as a Amiga user for NY and chatted with him via email, incognito. LOL)  But he told his CC company that it was never recieved/and/or broken.. but Paypal knew he had it and it worked because of his emails between he and I (I BCC'd them).  So his CC company refunded his money to his card and demanded the money from Paypal which they (paypal) had to pay back.  So now he has a A4000 Toaster system for free.  Luckily as soon as the funds were there I withdrew them.  Paypal tried to tell me to refund the money but I didnt and never heard from them again.

As for Paypal, you were just unlucky. If you can furnish proof to Paypal thata sale was made, they will go after the buyer, and ifneed be shut his account down. apparently I'm not the one who lacks experience with Paypal (whoever said that).

I'm the one who said you lack Paypal experience.  Plenty of proof was shown but because I shipped it on the 8th day not the 7th day I was not covered by Seller Protection policy so they told me I owe them.  But over the phone they acknowledged that he has the computer and its working.

@sdyates:
No I did not let him know who I was..I just wanted to get the truth out of him.. I didnt lose any money but he did get something for free.  The whole time we talked he made himself out to look like a hardcore Toaster user, knew what he was getting etc.  But after reading his replies to Paypal and on the NY Amiga users group, he didnt know what he had or how to use it.

@-D-
If you're wondering if Paypal can go into your REAL account (ie. bank account) to get money you OWE for whatever reason (like my situation), NO they CANNOT.  Trust me, I "owe" $400  :lol:

The only real way to protect yourself online is to pay with a credit card because usually the CC company will reimburse you if you're ripped off, but it works both ways.
Money orders?  Nah..I was ripped off by a Connecticuit (sp) ebayer selling me a A1200.

That's your fault then, is it not? If you would've shipped it when you were supposed to, you wouldn't have had a problem.

So by shipping late it entitles the buyer to defraud Paypal?  Thats what you're basically saying, you're not a certain "Judge" from New York are you? :lol:  It doesnt matter anyway because I no longer accept Paypal and I did get my money.

Of course you can BUY-IT-NOW without Paypal, I do it all the time and offer my bidders the same.

And I beg to differ about Paypal not being able to go into your bank account. They've already done it to me several times. If you use a bank accouunt with Paypal, they WILL take money from it when you owe them.

Well they sure didnt take a penny from me...but if that is the case, now I'm really glad I dont take Paypal.

maffoo:

Before Ebay bought Paypal I had asked them (paypal via phone) about my $400 I "owe".  I asked if they could go into my account to get the money and they said no.  So then I called again but didnt let them know who I was and asked them about "a friends account that owed $400", and recieved the same answer.   Dont know how it is now and dont really care since I dont use Paypal.  Their rules may or may not have changed since then.
