I am slowly going through this lot and will be listing items one by one to the eBay Store (http://stores.ebay.com/Reds-Retro-Computing). I will post them to this thread as they go up. Do not be frightened if the price seems high on some of these items. In most cases the store items will have a Make Offer, so you can make an offer for what you think is fair, even if that offer is much lower. You may get it

Red, what's the racing game you show in the Indivision auction? It looks like a game I used to love playing on a friend's 64 and haven't seen in almost 20 years.

Those game screenshots were made by Amiga.org user ddniUK and I was given permission to use them. I would suggest PM'ing ddniUK to ask, I'm not sure myself :-)

It's Stunt Car Racer (aka Stunt Track Racer).

what is that crazy black thing on the megachip?
also
This capability is done by taking advantage of the 1 megabyte of memory that is already on your Amiga®.
wasn't there a version issue with about whether or not you got 1MB of RAM built in?
-
weirdami wrote:

That's a clip to connect to one of the Gary pins, IIRC. It pulls in an address line not available to the 1MB Agnes socket.
@adolescent:
THANKS! I loved playing that game... now I have to see if I can dig it up somewhere

Did you take it all out of the boxes and take a single giant picture of it all with your dog in there for scale? Later on, at least, then, perhaps just a gigantic list of everything so we can all see how hauly you were?

Now that you've got all this stuff. Can you tell us where you got it all from? I am particularly curious as to where they got some of this stuff from.
Was it anyone famous or just a collector who scoured for rare stuff?
You sure that is an "Access" and not an "InsideOut"? The Access was a replacement Amiga motherboard whereas the InsideOut was the Amiga on a card.

The gem of the collection! (actually, these are one of my favorite Macs, 800x600 max resolution nonwithstanding.)

You'll pay through the nose. Best get saving now.
You could wait a bit and email Jen's Schoenfeld to see if he's ever going to release his remake. (But I think you might be waiting forever?)
Buy an 8Mb NedoPC Fast RAM expansion (http://bboah.com/cgi-bin/showhardware.cgi?HARDID=1786) for $40 (http://amigasc.nm.ru/english/buy.html) in the mean time?

yeah, judging by the prices of everything else, ill prolly pass...
i have a friend in berlin, so occasionally i can pick stuff up on ebay.de where the prices are pennies compared to the US.
i just won an auction for a claimed "brand new" a600 for 35 EUR... a machine that would likely exceed $2-250 US.
it helps to understand a little german and have a friend you can ship thru :))
oh and that 8mb fast ram looks kewl :)

It was a private collector from the Detroit area, no one famous.

It is an Access.
Are you keeping the CDTV-CR?
Not likely, I will most likely auction it so everyone will have a fair shot. I have been a bit overwhelmed by people contacting me for direct sales of some of the more rare items, including some very long term repeat customers. For more common items I can make direct deals if a price is agreed upon, and I have dome that with a few items so far, but for the rare items they will be probably auctioned at $0.01 with no reserve.

Anyone want to make off eBay offers on FastATA 4000 or Catweasel ZII cards?
-
redrumloa wrote:

Did you get the full price? I notice you had a few offers. I'm very curious to know if there is a volume demand (no pun intended) for Concierto cards. MASTATABS has the design plans for them and the code for the drivers etc.

No, but I was not looking for full price. i was looking for offers. I simultaneously got off eBay offers for the P4 and the Concierto and sold them, so I pulled the store listing. The Concierto sold for $150.
-
redrumloa wrote:

Hmm... with those prices I think I'll save up for a bit to finally make my Picasso IV complete... Or maybe sell some stuff first :-)
-
Red, you're a bada$$!
How much for the CD32 dev board and CD32 dev board (with all ports)? :-D
-
Yeah the CD32 dev boards are interesting, probably worth a bit.
what CDTV CR "software" came with it? I havent been able to find any documents or software for it at all. (Although a new Welcome disc was designed for it)
The black A4K will make some money too I bet.

Nope, that makes you a smart shopper :-D
As -D- stated, one Picasso IV (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:L:EOISSAA:US:11&item=120321317194) sold from the most recent listing with one left(from that listing).

-D- wrote:

You've been nuts not getting one until now! :-D
You'll love it! :-)
-
The only down-side to a PIV is that it's maximum resolution in 24-bit is now below that of the native resolution of modern LCD panels and at maximum resolution it is quite slow (I dunno if that is the gfx chip, software or Zorro III bus).
That said it is the mutts nuts if you've never had an Amiga with a gfx card, especially if you have a CRT monitor which can do 50Hz.
I had only ever had a PIV before so I naturally assumed all Amiga gfx cards were as easy to use and so tightly coupled with scandoubler.
It wasn't until I saw a friend with a Voodoo3 Mediator that I realised how great they are.
We really need a new gfx card with integrated scandoubler if LCD's keep getting higher native resolutions with terrible down-scaling hardware. (Going off thread a bit)

The other Picasso IV (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120321317194) in that listing is now sold.

sorry dudes I got the last PIV. It was a great deal and the only reason I was hesitating was the recent economic situation. But offers like this don't come very often (well, ever again maybe ?) so I decided to bite the bullet :) now it's time to work my ass hard for CC invoice that's on its way
thanks red for the great job, scoring this lot and offering it to the community.

Thx again red :pint:

It's not pixelation though. It's scaler filter blurring and scan rate conversion. Bye bye smooth scrolling. But I think this discussion is for another time, and another thread.
I do not think anyone has the choice of CRT over LCD these days as they no longer make CRT monitors!

I got a nice 19inch CRT, lovely display, if any one wants it cheap. Shipping might be a b1tch though. :-D

Red, you mentioned schematics for almost every model Amiga, any for an AT 4000T? Also, have any spare keys for AT 4000T's ??

Hi again Marc,
If red can't help you with the A4KT Keys, I have a pair on a ring here. I need A4KD keys. They are smaller! :-(
PM me if you want em! :-)

Not coming soon, terribly failed testing. On hold.

Added Micronik Z3i (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170273597641).
Sorry, that's it for today :-( Tomorrow should see a gem or 2, but Saturday will be the day.

Yes, amazing ain't it :-D This board will be pulled and auctioned separately, starting at $0.01 with no reserve.
BTW if anyone is interested in that Micronik (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170273597641) bus board, get your offer in today (soon). I have a fair (if slighlty low) offer I'll probably take unless a better one comes through soon.
-
shame it didn't come with the even more ledgendary inferno GFX card that connected to the wildfire's PCI bus...
same chipset as the PIV, just a bit better hookup than zorro2 :-D...
-
Is that the busboard that allowed you to use A2000, A3000 and A4000 accelrators on the A1200 ?
-
no A2000, it's completely different. You can use A3000/4000 (they are the same) or A1200 accelerators. For Zorro3, you have to use a 3000/4000 type accelerator. With 1200 accelerators it will only function as Zorro2 busboard.
-
So with this busboard, a a3000/a4000 acelerator you get zorro 3 ( didnt knwo you could get zorro 3 on A1200) , could I then run prometheus on this busboard ?
-
not really sure about that. Note that it says DMA doesn't work for Zorro3 (possibly due to lack of Zorro3 buster ?). Dunno if prometheus requires DMA or buster.
-
not sure, think red would know, but as far as i know DMA doesnt work on prometheus
-
Your advert doesnt say which version your Paloma is.
Is it a UK one (PAL-I) or an EU one (PAL-B/G)?
Buy the wrong one for your region and you'll get no sound :-(
Edit: I can just see from the photo it says PAL/UK on it?
-
Micronik goes inside A1200?
-

Red's bad a** for sale thread!

Well, no drivers support DMA PCI to PCI. Prometheus does DMA to the MB, so it probably won't work in the Micronik.

Looking at the current price there are a lot of UK users who want a TV tuner!! Especially considering it will be pretty useless in just over a year (when UK switches off the analog TV signals).

In Feb 09 USA analog tv goes off also, but the gov is giving away free converter boxes. I'd bet the same thing is happening there.

Sold another Warpengine 3040 and another Picasso IV.
-
redrumloa wrote:

We'll see. Digital TV takeup in the UK is much higher than in the US so the gov is under far less pressure to give away digiboxes. Unfortunately most UK digiboxes are SCART and do not have RF output.
Obviously others think it still has a use or they would not be bidding. Nice to see people fired up.

I want one, but the price is already quite out of reach.
Maybe some things are just not meant to be mine. :-)

Probably the original mobo inside of that A600 was NTSC, it died, and the owner replaced it with a PAL motherboard.
The keyboard looks to be US layout type, so that's where my guess is coming from. :-)

Or the other way around. Vesalia used to sell replacement A600 cases and keyboards including USA layout.

Good call almost spot on! I actually just got a PM from the last owner who stated he replaced the original NTSC mb with a PAL mb, due to the fact he was living in the EU. I'm going to update the listing.
That info surprised me! If that is the case, what does the "P" stand for in A600P :-?

You like that, eh? While true, I put word it like that a bit tounge in cheek. It's a bit of a throwback to the old days on eBay, I used to list in that style for many listings. For several years I'd put "No AOL users, please do not bid". That got me all kinds of nasty emails

NTSC certainly has issues, one UK mag. said the acronym meant 'Never Twice the Same Color' ;-)
With some care, IMHO, NTSC equal PAL, assuming you are aware of NTSC's shortcomings... (Try viewing fully-saturated red text on NTSC for an example) BUT, as Red mentioned, the Video Toaster rocks NTSC... My Toaster 4000/ Flyer setup has phenomenal video quality...
P.S. Does this even matter after every system goes to DTV ???

I'm probably not going to update this thread any longer, unless people are still following it? If you are watching this thread, let me know. Otherwise I will start new threads only for rare or unusual items.

You can probably just keep updating the main post with new things and "SOLD" notes. I think the biggest draw for this thread is that people want to know what all you got in your big haul and just updating the big list is probably sufficient.
-
Added Picasso II+ gfx card (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400010990746) and CSA Magnum 40/4 accelerator for A2000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400010989387) to auctions
Lowered the price on the Wildfire 060 accelerator for Amiga 2000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400009373461). This is well below what they typically sell for on auction. If no serious bites by Sunday, it will go to auction.
Unless I hear from some people, this is the last update..

Is the Guru ROM the GVP version or the A2091/A590 version?

alexh wrote:

The original version, which is for GVP as stated in the eBay listing...

K, I wasn't aware there was an "original" version. I just thought there was Guru ROM 6 for both.

alexh wrote:

The box doesn't say "GVP Imapct II Version", but it only talks about GVP. Just my understanding the A2091 version was later.
-
I dont know the exact details but they were both called GURU ROM and they were both called V6
I do know that the GVP version was not just for the Impact Series II as it worked on ones which were also accelerators (A530, G-Force 030 Combo?).

I have been following it since day 1 (I like to see all the goodies you have picked up and selling) I don't visit eBay as often as I do here.

$405

$405 was fine, this was a 64 version and had no SuperRAM card. IIRC they were $299 with no SuperRAM when new.

At $1,100 plus dollars the prototype went well over my budget- I guess I shouldn't be all that suprised. I am watching the 1000's closely.

If the prices start going super low, are you going to hold off for a while because the market is getting flooded?
-
weirdami wrote:

I don't think the market will ever get flooded enough to lower prices. There are just so many parts and way too many people are wanting them. Mix in the "new" Amiga users that are poping up on a daily basis. Red is safe even if he had a hundred times the inventory.
-
weirdami wrote:

Naah. While the A2000 end bid was shockingly low, so far I an still say win some, lose some. For the price of the A2000, I would have bought it myself. You never know with eBay, just the nature of the beast. A few other auctions went a bit higher than expected, so it's all good.
-
Am I the only one who doesn't think that $180 for a bare bones A2000 is about what you would expect to get? Maybe a little on the high side? There was nothing out of the ordinary about it other than the fact that the original owner bought it new (isn't that the case with all computers) and he hadn't used it much (alot of computers fall in this class also). He had to use it some because ReDrum stripped the goodies all out of it that the original owner had installed. I can understand the high prices for some of the rare or hard to find items being listed, but this was neither rare or hard to find. JMTC

Totally disagree. The owner didn't use it, he bought it new upgraded by the dealer he bought it new from and it sat in storage. The keyboard has never been out of it's original plastic, the unused mouse still has the original shipping tab, the manuals are still wrapped. The original battery has no leak or fuzz, which it would if used. $180 is a steal. jmho

I think the issue is the A2000 is about as common as dirt. When you come across a "brand new" C64 or A500 in package, the prices don't get too incredibly high on those either, and they definitely have a bigger nostalgia following.
-

4 years ago I was getting between $200 on the low and $700 on the high, each for never opened NOS(New Old Stock) 64C computers. I sold several dozen of them. If someone had a NOS breadbox C=64, that would be some money.
I think I have a NOS A1000 here, I may just keep it for myself..

That's all postage, I only have a $2 handling fee on this auction.

128D=Best 8 bit computer ever made. I love mine. I would suggest you snag it before it's gone.
They seem to go for between $100-$150 on Ebay and do show up fairly often although not often with their boxes. It's up to you how much extra worth that really adds.
-
ee, sam coupe is the best 8-bit
-
@Red
Didn't mean to sound like I was implying you had anything to do with the high postage...
Just genuinely dissapointed because with the current state of the Aussie dollar, postage will be almost A$200. :-(
Supposing I can sneak that past my wife :-) , what would be the power situation? Would I just need a stepdown converter to use it in Aus?
@Chubbyrain
I agree, best 8bit computer ever made!

I hear ya... The USD has improved in the last several months, but it has been in a brutal slide for years...
Here's hoping things get better all around.

When I last moved I had a "box bonfire" to reduce the space needed for all my stuff. :boohoo:
I had no idea how valuable that cardboard is to some people. :boohoo:

Last update, too much effort to keep updating this list. Sorry guys :-( I will start a new thread if/when I list any rare items.
Sold a ton of stuff.
Click HERE (http://stores.ebay.com/Reds-Retro-Computing_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZQ2d1QQftidZ2QQtZkm) to see newly listed items.
Your best bet would be bookmark that page and check a couple times a week.

How do you know the blown PSU on the Cherry Boxed CDTV didn't take anything else with it!??
-
The CDTV was working fine when I turned it off after the first sign of blue smoke. By the time I took the CDTV apart to test the power supply, it was dead (the PS).
-
It's not uncommon for an exploding PSU to take out whatever it might be plugged into. I hope you were lucky! ;-)
-
I would jump on that CDTV, but I am broke until the 31. If it's still there then, I will gladly take it off your hands for that price.

@quarkx
Buy it and pay me on the 31st, I know you are good for it. If you prefer outside eBay, knock $10 off. Let me know and I'll pull the listing.
-
Thanks, Red,
PM sent.
