Title: How much do you think this is worth?
Post by: on July 22, 2006, 01:36:17 PM
Hi peeps, I was just wondering what the following Amiga system is worth?

Amiga 4000 desktop in Ateo tower case
Cyberstorm 060 @ 50mhz + 128mb ram
PicassoIV GFX Card
PicassoIV Sound module (Concerto)
PicassoIV TV Tuner module (Paloma)
Hydra Network card (BNC Connector)
Ioblix Serial & Parallel Port combo card
2x 8GB SCSI Drives
1x 6GB IDE Drive
1x SCSI ZIP Drive

I am not considering selling this system at the moment but it would be nice to have a rough idea of how much this may be worth.

Regards, Bubble.

It's worth £10.

I'll give you  £20, so you'd make a good profit  ;-)

Probably around £500-£600 in real life?

Hi Yoodoo, thanks for that. I agree, who would want to pay more than £10 for a load of old, outdated crap like I have  ;-)

Thanks Laser, seems like silly money for an old machine like this. Anyone else want to give an estimate?

Hi. I've seen PicassIV's alone (without the modules) goind for  around 170£, some even more!! If you split it and sell everything seperately you'll probably make 300£ on the Picasso stuff alone ;-)

£20 the lot (they're not Amiga-specific and so would fetch 'real-world' prices rather than insane 'Amiga-prices').

Total £820 separately
Or if you sell it as a complete system probably £600

Thanks Lando, jeez thats scary. I didn't realise it may be worth that much  :-o    Mind you, it probably cost me loads more when I bought the kit new. I still remember buying a GVP 1230 card for my A1200 and the shopkeeper mentioned that he had the 16mb (if my memory serves me) chips for it. I thought woooo! That's loads more than the 4mb that came on the card, and I stupidly asked "How much?"

After I came round on the floor I realised that he really had said £999.00!!!!!!  For 16mb ram A R R R G G G HHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

alright, alright.... jeez. Nice system, I'm not going to break it down part by part but I think is WORTH ALOT but it hard to sell loaded system for a bunch of money, so as a system I can see it going $600 - $800.  It SHOULD sell for $1200.

I think Lando has got it pretty spot on, although I used to watch prices like a hawk a couple of years back and don't know what they're like now.

The only thing that I think maybe a little high is the Cyberstorm (I'm assuming its a MKII?)
And maybe you could get more for the Picasso?

[If sold on eBay, its amazing what could happen 'on the day' so to speak]

Good luck.
