Encounter... :)

On the C64 it had you actually ducking and diving in your seat, it lost something in the Amiga version... :(

Name me 3 games that take 15 minutes to load.

Ocean games took about 4 - 5 mins

30 seconds to start the intro music 3 - 4 min tune 30 seconds to load the final bits

There were/are hunderds of C64 games that took nearly 15 minutes to load before the "Turbo loaders" were written... :)

I wrote my own Turbo loader (Screen Turbo it was called) way back in the 80s which takes a maximum of 34 seconds to load any game from tape on the real C64 (full memory load including under the roms)... :)

Load times werent the 15 minutes that someone else mentioned, but they /are/ longer than it'd usually be on the amiga, whcih is what the topic was :)

Oh yes they were... ;)

I've got 2 C64s set up here and games before the introduction of turbo loaders that require the full memory of the C64 do take from 12 to 15 minutes to load, buy a real C64 and some old non turbo games and see for yourself... :)
