Hi

Could somone tell me which mac is the best to get for morph os.  is it the 1.5ghz Mini ?  would order of preferenece be

1) mac mini 1.5gh
2) slower mac min
3) fastest emac

Thanks

Clearly the the 1,5GHz Mac with 64MB Video RAM, I think the extra video RAM is more important then having 2GB system RAM as the eMac can have.

Other then that benchmarks show that all Mac Mini G4 models beats the eMac 1,25GHz.
Tho not by much, but a little, then also it has a good form factor dosen't it?

So if you got the money I say go for a 1,5GHz Mini or any Mini. Or else get a eMac and remove the CRT.

EDIT: Since you wrote "3) fastest emac" I must clarify that ONLY the 1,25GHz model of the eMac works with MorphOS! No other eMac works. The first version got Nvidia gfx chipset, the other 2 models got unsupported ati versions.

I'd really like to get an emac and tear it apart and put it in a custom painted morphos case and do the mod so I can use a flatscreen, but I also just like the idea of leaving it alone. Its a nice all in one really. I'm leaning emac because its alot cheaper and also because then I don't need another monitor speakers and so on...

I really doubt the difference between 1.25ghz and 1.5ghz will matter much. Does the video memory really make a big difference in general
day to day use performance?

Well the Mini got a built in speaker to ;) Nothing fancy tho ^^
If I where you I would go for custom eMac case, seems fun and a eMac with CRT takes up so much space!
