Need help with IDEfix badly
« on: March 14, 2004, 09:47:37 AM »
OK, my problem is, I can't get the cdrom to show up in workbench.  I have placed the CD0 file into the dossdrivers drawer in devs i think and it detects it in the program, but thats all i can do.  I have tried a couple of drives, and for some reason it won't save the changes in the prefs file for idefix.  Does anyone have any idea what I can do about this or another program that detects cdrom drives?  When I get my drive working I can then put the lid back onto it cos at themoment i have been putting the hard disk into my pc, then running UAE to transfer it all across. Please help me.....

You need CD0 in Devs/DosDrivers, CacheCDFS in L and atapi.device in Devs. Then edit the CD0 file to fit the device/unit shown in FindDevice. Make sure you use the CD0 file installed by the IDEfix installer and not the one which comes with Workbench 3.1. Now reboot. The CD-ROM should work now. If it doesn't, open a shell window, enter CD CD0: and tell us the error message.

Bye,
