For those who miss the feel of the old BBSes on dialup.. ATDT, slow speed, etc, there's a solution...

A serial to ethernet adapter for your Amiga!  I have one...  It has a "modem emulation" mode.
What that means is, if someone has a telnet bbs setup at 127.0.0.1, I can go into JRComm on my Amiga and type:
adtd 127.0.0.1

Yep..  It will "dial" and connect and I'm in at the speed my serial port is set to at the time...

For that TRUE retro feel!!

I've been meaning to try Amiga modem games (firepower, stunt track racer, etc) using that method at some time.  I do know someone else who got one of these adapters..  I just have to get the time...  ;-)

What model do you use?
Lantronix MSS-100

Admittedly, I haven't hooked it up to the Amiga 1200 since I got my PCMCIA ethernet working, but it's still back there in the mess of wires..  :-)
