Tesla vs. Edison
« on: November 21, 2007, 04:33:07 AM »
The long battle between the AC power distribution, advocated by Tesla and DC power distribution, advocated by Edison, has ended.

Con Ed will now only provide alternating current.

Wow. I guess that's one of those 'only in America' phenomena. I had no idea DC main supply had existed for so long. I had thought AC supplies would have phased out DC long ago. Hahah hehe, I made a funny.  ooohhhh, sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself.

A Manhattan Island phenomena, for the rest of the country and the other boroughs of New York, DC power distribution was impractical. Edison did invent the electric chair to show the danger of AC power distribution.

Yeah, thanks metalman. I know it was not the norm. That power station is quite the interesting relic.
