Getting emotional over Commodore 16
« on: April 10, 2007, 12:13:32 PM »
I had three E's on Saturday night, was pilling out of my head all night then i drove to a massive Car Boot sale at 6am in the morning still mashed up.

Walking arround a found a Commodore 16, the first ever computer i got when i was six years old and i bought it for £2!!

When I got home I realiosed i should nerture it stoke it gently and kiss it as i thought "This is what started me on computers" as i was stroking the black plastic thinking about basic and the game "Kickstart".

Just though I'd share this with you as the Commmodore 16 has special place in my heart.

Hope you didn't kill anyone while driving around on pills. Still, at least you enjoyed yourself.

I was being facetious. I think driving under the influence is pretty irresponsible, even if you think you were "coming down".

What dragged me into the computer world was an Oric-1 48K model, much like this one:

I got it back in 1983 when I was 9 years old, and my brother taught me how to program Basic the first day.  Needless to say, I got hooked almost instantly.

I haven't touched it for years, but I do know it's there and that it's fully operational.  One of these days I'll pick it up again.  Or, at least, that's what I keep telling myself. :)

It certainly means a lot to me, as with the C64 and the Amiga 500.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

To get back a C16 is pretty nice I still use one myself.
But to take as you say 3 E`s then go out driving is pretty sad.

Nah, nothing happened, so a life long non-revokable driving-ban should do the trick (dead serious here).

How did they say:

Smoking is for the stupid, drinking for the weak and drugs for those who have gone way beyond those  :-(
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

I havent had hard drug for about 3 years this was one mad night

I drank full bottle 4 year old red wine one of my freinds come around with the pills so i took em for a laugh.

The effects wore off before about 3am but I felt awake and bored.

I've just got 9v power adapter, rf cable and it works fine!

Now I need round type joystick and datacasette.

You're a complete idiot to drink a whole bottle of wine then take three pills then go and drive your car around. 3 hours is not enough time for you to sober up even from the alcohol, let alone any residual affects from the pills. You might have thought you were sober enough to drive, but I bet your reactions were severely impaired. What if someone had stepped out in to the road in front of you and you couldn't stop in time because you were still under the influence, whether it be from drugs or alcohol? I only hope that if this is a regular habit, you hurt yourself before you hurt anyone else! You should be ashamed of yourself.
