New Screenshots
« on: April 17, 2003, 11:18:09 AM »
I realise that they have been up for a week or so now, but I don't think anyone actually posted that there are a bunch of new screen shots of AROS on the new website:

 Screen Shots Here!!!

sorry if you've already seen them, but they do look really good  :-D

-EDIT-

Um, I guess this follows in the current trend of Useless Posts... Sorry  :-D

Oddly enough I was wandering around the AROS site yesterday....

Is AROS really worth using ? Or is it still only at 'curiousity' level ?

I'm particularly interested in the Native Version...

Hmm, good question... I find it useful, as I can boot a machine up at work (takes about 20seconds) and then play games. Then I can reboot and go back in the stinky WinNT4 (which is locked so than nothing can be installed, though this is not too dificult to get around  :-D ).

But most of you will probably find it a curiousity, at least until we get a TCP/IP stack for Internet/networking.

I think it's quite pretty to look at too. so I often just leave it running on my machine when people come around, and get a few bemused looks from them (many of whome had an Amiga many years ago).

The pointers are downloadable on my site, under software, you must have missed the link. :-)

She is no longer snotty, was born with glue ear - two operations later - snot free.

One day I'll get around to fixing the pool,  internal renovations are taking priority... I'm in NW Kent, on the M25 border.

Ahh Kent... ok. I'd like to get out of the smoky city :-/ I've just moved from Fitzroy Square (next to the BT tower) out to Chiswick which is much nicer.

Do you have any news about that tcp/ip stack?

I couldn't agree with you more...that and a native development environment would make it truly a competitor.

I looked at the site, its just amazing to see how they made steady progress year after year, and have come so far....just a bit more to go!

good luck

There is currently nobody working on a tcp/ip stack! there has been attempts of porting AmiTCP (dead since last year) and then someone tried porting lwip (dead since i cant remember) on a more positive note Martin Blom has started porting AHI so sound should be comming our way.

Yeah, I have to admit, AROS is SO trick. I've been following you guys since around 2000 and you never cease to amaze me.  :-o

Sux about the TCP/IP stack, though. Wish I could help, but I don't know dick about coding. Wish you all the best, though.

So, uh, when are we gonna see a HDD bootable version??  :-D

Since 2001 ??????  :-P
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

I'm talking with an installer. =^P  I like computers and all, but I am *NOT* an uber-user. LOL I'd rather draw or paint something than have to fix a bloody computer.  :-D I saw their hard drive install notes once...it looked like chinese....wait...I speak chinese...maybe it wasn't so hard after all?? ;-)

I thought Roadshow was planned for Aros? If so, it won't be available untill AOS4 is out. If Roadshow is anticipated, that would explain why everyone's holding off on TCP/IP.
