So happy with my new MorphOS Mac Mini
« on: October 17, 2010, 07:18:36 PM »
Hi all!
Just needed to share my excitment and joy using my new AmigaLike machine: a Mac Mini I've just bought second hand.
Specs:
- Mac Mini G4 1.25 Ghz
- 1 GB*RAM
- 32 MB VRAM
- 40 GB*HD
And, off course, my own copy of MorphOS registered! Support the developers! Go for the G5 version :-)

This tiny machine sits under my MacbookPro (it's on a Griffin Stand), near my iMac 27" Core i7 and connected to a 20" LCD*TV/monitor. And MorphOS rocks!

Been using it for one day, I completely love it!
A1200D(Blizzard 68030,32MB,Wifi,IdeFix,CDROM), A1200D(Apollo 68030,8MB),A600,A500
I maintain a site on everything, Amiga too (in Spanish)
Regards to all amiga fans!   :-)

I'd second that sentiment. I just got my Quicksilver Powermac running version 2.6.
My processor is slower than yours and I have half your memory and this system still flies.  I have 128Mb Radeon 9200 and 3d video seems more than fast enough.

I havenĀ“t seen more than 10% of 1GB used :-) So I think 512MB it's not too bad at all
Mine flyes too. But yours have 4 times more VRAM, which I think it's very important to achieve a good performance.

Original Amiga owners may try to use their machines excliusively, but I could actually see using my MorphOS system to the exclusion of all others (in fact I may have to as my X86 PC get failed).
Anyone who doubts PPC systems as a viable upgrade path for Amigans ought to spend some time with on of these.
It's more stable (and faster) than OS4. There's a lot of good software available and each version gets just a little better.
Truely, MorphOS IS Amiga done right!

Haven't used OS4. I had to choose, and this path, using old Mac hardware just fits me. I love Macs and have one PowerMac G5 waiting for MorphOS :-)
