Update to RP9 editor for Amiga Forever...
« on: January 10, 2011, 06:14:30 PM »
Simon Mathiassen (81Red) has updated his RP9 editor with some great new features:

You can download it at:

http://81red.dk/drupal/?q=node/157

The RP9 is a "file-wrapper" that can be used with Amiga Forever or C64 Forever.  Each RP9 can contain all files related to a certain Amiga application or game (multiple disk images, screengrab, documentation and some notes about emulation configuration, etc.).

RP9 files can be added to the library of games, etc. in Cloanto's Amiga Forever "Player".  RP9s can be browsed through title by title, a screenshot is displayed and software instructions can be opened (all from the Player).  Selecting an RP9 from within Amiga Forever will start up the game using some of the emulation parameters defined in the RP9 file.

Although Amiga Forever includes a basic RP9 creator, 81Red's software has a much better user interface and is much easier to configure.

It's a must for anyone who wants to customize a library of Amiga or C64 software for use with Amiga Forever or C64 Forever.

Looks very cool as I could not see how to add to the Applications section of AmigaForever with the standard editor supplied with AmigaForever.  Thanks to this editor I should be able to add copies of my two A1200 HDs install and my minimig config as well.

I may also try adding some of my favourite games such as Lotus, Civilization and Nethack to the games menu.
Sam440ep 667mhz 512megs OS4.1
Minimig, 4MB RAM, ARM add-on board
Amiga 1200 Eyetech mk4 Tower, Blizzard 1240 040/40 32MB Fast ram, IDEFix Express mk2, mediatorSX pci, Voodoo3 PCI, PCI network card, OS3.9 BB2.

In case it's not obvious, to add a documentation file (PDF or TXT) to an RP9, you just drag the document file anywhere on the RP9 editor window (note also that you can also drag and drop multiple floppy images as well).
