XBox on paper uses a Geforce4 chip, in reality this chip runs at the same speed as a Geforce2mx....

It’s alot closer to an integrated Geforce 4 MX 420 (with shared memory) with a DirectX 8.X GPU core (with data compression tricks).

From memory;
XBOX's total bandwidth is '128bit x 266Mhz DDR' (similar to the nForce I's bandwidth) .

Bandwidth  of 64bit x 133Mhz (~1 GB/s) is for Pentium III/Celeron hybrid. The rest of the total bandwidth(i.e. ~4GB/s)  is distributed to APU (similar to Nvidia’s Sound Storm) and GPU. In terms audio solution, it blows away the VIA686B’s Via audio solution.

I've seen playstations and Dreamcasts crash on odd occations. But not so often as to wonder but for a moment before carrying on where you left off.

XBox.... games here in the uk are STILL £10 than for the equivilent game for the gamecube or ps2... what good is a cheep console if you're going to be taking it up the backside (not litterally obviously) every time you buy a game?

That and its plain ugly, not to mention it wieghs more than my water cooled athlon pc. Carrying it from the shop to your car has been known to injure peoples backs!!! (OK I can't back that up but I'd not be suprised at all if it did).

Hmm, wasn't there a company that put Mini-ITX motherboards in old cases, like the A1000's, old Atari consoles and stuff like that ...?

Yeah.. that's Kermit Woodall's outfit. ...  But this is an AMIGA! in an old Amiga case.  :-D

That was not the issue. Anyway, XBOX was introduced later than the PS2.

It’s false to claim that “but still people aren’t buying them..”. The numbers I posted is more accurate than your claims.

Note that Nintendo’s ‘Game Cube’ is coming third in the console battles. Careful with
"any sale for a console".

ermm old news, i read this 2 months ago.

Usb2.0 , 133mzh pci (1) , IDE RAID controller (4 devices max) Udma,2xAgp Onboard , Ac97 sound ,Cardbus slot , 10/100/1000 Mbit ethernet , IEEE 1394 Firewire + usual legacy stuff.
TV out /ntsc/pal  , PCI RiserCard  (ie an 4 slot extension maybe?)

also floppy drives for usb does excist so all you need to do is rip out yer old amiga floppy and insert it into yer usb case...or maybe not :)

Cpu is changeable , but it doesnt say anything about clocking....also a last note must be that this is proto and by all means not a final product.

Cute, but how much does it cost?

Can I get it without paying Amiga Tax? I just want a board to run Freevo on, considering all the mini ITX boards I've seen so far have crappy VIA/S3 graphics, a Radeon of any sort would be welcome :)

It looks very nice, but no fire wire = no buy for me I'm afraid.

I'm at that stage in life where I have to justify my purchases - it sucks to be a grown up.

But as to the question of permission to host the pictures... ;-)

Max was a bit quick on this one. But as long as everyone understands that this is a pre-production board (and I realise that my own comment above only adds to the confusion, sorry. I was half-asleep and very confused myself at the time :-) ) we shouldn't have a problem. The specs from this picture seems to be like I mentioned above, the final board will have USB2 and IEEE1394, apparently.

Looks like an expensive Pegasos with a buggy Articia still included.

Hmm, do you see a price tag ? So how can you say it's expensive ?

Plus, it says *preproduction prototype*.  That means it's a prototype, and it's not the thing that will go into production.

But I'm sure you know that.

I frelling hate these online forums. Can't post anything anywhere without reading it somewhere else half an hour later. Maybe I should just become a hermit?
