I've been using the X86 backports for Debian woody for a couple of months now and i havnt looked back. Soon i hope i can put kernel 2.6 on my woody system and then i'll truly be a happy camper.
Good News is, now you can enjoy the backporting goodness with a central repository for all deibna PPC backports.
