A1000 1mb ram
« on: July 28, 2015, 12:28:19 AM »
While even though my exhibit was a bust, I still managed to have fun, meet some cool, people including Dave Haynie, and even score an A1000 at the Amiga 30th event (which btw who all from around here went? I was the guy with the A500 that did absolutely nothing )  Anyway, I was wondering what's the best way to upgrade the 1000's ram, because most demos and stuff require at least a megabyte...I'm also looking for something that doesn't require me to mod the hardware or anything, I'd like to keep it as original as possible.

You missed the A1000 ram expansions and accelerators that were for sale there at the event? Boo, I saw several, but you had to dig through those boxes. ;)  In any case, check if there's already the extra 256K behind the front cover. If not you'll want that. After that, get yourself something like the Kipper2k memory board that plugs in under the processor, or a Starboard or similar expansion that plugs into the side, and done. :)
