I don't bealive that with a money injection they get that ReactOS runs someday in PCs, because this "alternative" OS needs the Microsoft routines, for example for DirectX the big problem that ReactOS has for run games, and for run programs too, it needs the APIs and DLLs that the copyrights are of Microsoft, ReactOS is more fantasy than reality, is more reality the Amiga OS.
Amiga 500 with ROMs 1.3-2.05 and M-Tec AT 500 with hard disk and 4MB Ram.
WinUAE + Original OS 3.5&3.9
Sam440ep 800 MHZ + OS 4.1 F.E.
Sam460ex 1 GHz + OS 4.1 + Update 6. K.O.
MacMini 1.5 GHz + MorphOS 3.9
PowerBook G4 1.65 + MorphOS 3.9

Not really, the whole point is to reimplement the API to spec anyway. DirectX isn't voodoo, it's just a wrapper layer to provide access to common functionality on multimedia hardware, and the way it's supposed to work is already documented, because otherwise nobody could write programs for it. As long as ReactOS's version takes the same inputs and gives the same output, software isn't going to know the difference.

if some do-gooder had a million $ (or better £) to spend, then they should spend it on getting an actual useable GUI for Linux instead of the current crap...

PS: *nix makes a damn good server.. but a very weak desktop
2000/2060/128mb/2320/2gb/C64-3D/Hydra-Aminet on OS 3.9

I think linux makes a damn good desktop if you tweak it for your needs. I run xfce and the whole box is tweaked for speed. Yes out of the box, most linux distros are slow because of kde or other more bloated interfaces.
