Title: iPhone 3G No Wifi/Bluetooth/GPS
Post by: dougal on June 11, 2012, 06:03:02 PM
My old iPhone 3G no longer connects to Wifi, bluetooth or GPS.

It is not the common problem of the Greyed out Wifi toggle as it does allow you to search for Wireless networks but does not find anything. The Wifi address and bluetooth address are seen as normal as is the iemi number ok.

Even if i make the iphone right next to the router (which works fine even on a 2G and other 3G iphones) it still will not find anything.

I have tried restore, reset etc but problem was not solved.

I heard it could be antenna but even so i would imagine that right next to the router it should pick something up.

When phone was still about 8 months old it fell in the toilet and was damaged. I had taken it for repairs and it functioned perfect for some time then the Wifi, bt and gps suddenly died. Everything else works ok.

Once every 100000 times it may detect a wifi network for a few seconds.

It is on fw 3.1.3 and is jailbroken. Any chance it could be a simple software fix or simple hardware fix ?

You might want to see about flashing something that gives you the original baseband, I had a similar issue with an iPhone 1 (I forget the details, but I'm sure that cellular wasn't working) and flashing the right thing fixed it.
