No matter what imaginary camp you might think you're part of,
it's still sad. And any camp might start to wonder what
the newest beast might think of doing once it decides to start
twisting it's OS licenses' in new and interesting ways.

From what I understood is that Hyperion held some right to the OS, so that if Amiga should fail, Hyperion would then inherit full rights to the OS.

As stated over the years, that agreement would be voided in US Bankruptsy Courts.  You can not hide/transfer assets like that from the creditors.

@plaz

I agree, from a development site it's almost as if the site went backwards in design evolution. The only thing that is remotely modern about the site graphically is the shadows under the section links on the left.

The fonts are horribly serif'ed and it just looks poor overall. The only thing I can think of is that they designed it to work with IBrowse or AWeb or something of that sort. (Haven't tried btw)

Sigh... hope all is still well in the Amiga future. I just sincerely hope Hyperion gets AOS4 out sometime soon before it get's axed at the last minute and this self-sustaining community is forced to used the existing betas of AOS4 that roam around on A1 machines as the base for the next gen of Amigas.

>This change enables us to focus on rebuilding this famous brand.

How I loathe this marketroid talk.  "Brand"?  Is that all it is to him?  WTF?  This does not bode well. Mind you, he's not that far removed from the ilk who think Amiga is about an operating system.  The OS is less than half the vision.  Hardware ahead of it's time was the key.  The OS made it usable.

>Did everyone forget? They don't own Amiga OS anymore

Who do you mean by "They"?

What I want to know is what became of the German court's alleged decision that Gateway never actually bought the rights to the Amiga OS.

>The only thing I can think of is that they designed it to work with IBrowse or AWeb or something of that sort.

Ahem, that's a good thing.

>wouldn't give a rat's rearend about Amiga Inc as long as Hyperion was pushing forward with their OS

Amen.

What if Hyperion was owed money by Amiga Inc? That would be fun.  Maybe.
