Title: Message Posting Help

Could someone explain what everything does on the "message posting page". How do I use the message icons? What do the buttons do? What are the icons under the message box for? I can't figure out how to quote. The QUOTE button asks what text to quote, but there is nothing to chose from.

And don't expect it to be simple, especially if you run an Amiga. Nothing on Amiga.org is simple for the Amiga!

Message icons only are shown when in "threaded" view.  They're pretty irrelevant.

How to quote:
 - copy the text you wish to quote
 - hit the quote button
 - paste the text into the box

Another way to quote:
 - In the message text box, type {quote} (but square brackets instead of parentheses.
 - After {quote}, type the text you want to quote.
 - Close the quote with {/quote} (again with square brackets.

Ive been having lots of trouble,

OK, copying the text to the clipboard (right-amiga C) & pasting (right-amiga V) works, but the buttons don't do anything. Would also like to know how to post a interactive URL link. This page needs a HELP link.

how does one post a message????...

On the Home page click on the Forum link at the top. Select the forum you wish to post to & then click on the "Post New Thread" link. You already know how to reply to a post. :-) I sure glad I'm not the only one that's having a hard time figureing this out. :-)

JavaScript support in Amiga browsers is quite retarded.

For URL's:

{url=http://amiga.org}whatever text here{/url}

For images:

{img}http://www.yadayada.com/blah.jpg{/img}

... again, substitute the { } with [ ]
and the words url and img have to be lower case

another thing I wonder about
is why my signature never shows. :(
Ive tried to change it,
but still it wont show. :(

im turning on signature
on this post,
so that if someone knows how to fix it
then I will do that,
and afterwards it should show below:

EDIT:
ahh.. I changed my profile to 'always attach signature'

... but I thought that was for defaulting
'attach signature' on post editor to enabled (ticked)

or is it both?
