can I add external cd to a2000 ?
« on: August 24, 2013, 10:53:00 PM »
Dear friends:

I have a working amiga 2000.
It has a 68000/1 mb chip 2mb ram 50 mb hd.
Can I add an external cd drive to it ?
What do I need and how can I do it ?
I would prefer if I can install it without adding
internal components or opening the case.
Thanks !!!

dear friends:
My amiga is now off and i am to lazy to power, but now I remember
last time I checked the specs on the amiga it said, included with the
68000 and ram, it did say something 'scsi' some kind of scsi + a number.
But I do not know if it has an output to external connection.
Tell you what, I'm gonna try to start my amiga and check the specs.
Thank you !!!

Hi:

On showconfig:
BOARDS:
CBM A590/A2091 HD controller:   ---etc etc---
CBM A2052/58.RAM ---etc etc-----

I was wrong, there is no mention on showconfig of a scsi anything.
thank you !!!!

Hi:

I am not a hardware kind of guy and I am very afraid of installing the cd drive
internally. If i can just hook an external cd drive, it will be really easy and do not
have to worry about screwing the system.
Any thoughts ?
