Huenison gets an update and a new home
« on: December 11, 2016, 07:00:09 PM »
Huenison gets a little free update that:
 * touches up the logo;
 * colorizes and reformats the scrolltext;
 * changes Huenison's face colors;
 * changes the screenshot hotkey from [PRINT] to [F1];
 * makes the pause breakable with any key;
 * compensates for system delays so that the video refresh is as close to 50 fps as possible;
 * changes the log file location to T: (AmigaOS) / %TMP% (Windows);
 * adds multiple icon sizes (AmigaOS);
 * improves the manual;
 * improves the installers.

Moreover, Huenison has a new home now: it's available on itch.io at https://retream.itch.io/huenison (the online hiscores remain accessible at http://www.retream.com/Huenison/hiscores.php).

Steam, IndieGameStand, and AmiStore customers can download the updated version from the respective store (please note that it might take a while before the new version appears).

The update is performed by installing the new version over the old one using the supplied installer.

About Huenison

Huenison is an innovative arcade shooter that takes various elements from many classic and less-known games, and puts them together in a hectic mix. All in retro visuals and synthetic sonorities that recall the revered Commodore 64's SID chip.

It's a false positive. The machine I built the program (with gcc) and the installer (with Inno Setup Compiler) on is clean and has built also the previous executables, the BOH executables, and several other programs used by thousands of people all over the planet and nobody ever had any problem. Also, check this and this out.
If you are still unsure, please try with some other antivirus.
And, most impotantly, enjoy ;)

Oh, that will be a while!

You don't need to wait to make a super hiscore: if the option is enabled, the game will send your new hiscore(s) every time you quit (they will replace your previous hiscore(s) also in the online chart).
That's just FYI - of course, feel free to do as you please ;)

If you bought it from RGCD, then a while ago you should have received an IndieGameStand key (so you can get it from IndieGameStand).
If you bought it from get it from IndieGameStand, Steam, or AMIStore, then you can download it from the respective store (however, AMIStore customers need to wait for A-EON to make the updated version available - unfortunately, that is out of my control).
Once you have the updated version, you can simply install it over your installed copy.

And... another minor update is available, now ;)

The recent work on done KOG brought some improvements that were backported also to Huenison - namely:
* improved joypad handling;
* reworked controls reconfiguration;
* minor internal improvements.

Users can download the new version for free from the store they obtained the game from (who originally bought the game from RGCD can request a download key by sending their own order code to huenison@retream.com). Please note that it might take a while before the new version appears on AmiStore.

Available on:
itch.io
IndieGameStand
Steam
AmiStore

Enjoy!
