Yeah, I'm having trouble understanding the problem as well.
Because that's the problem...what it's happening here doesn't make any sense!
The bottom line is that the upgrade to 3.1 screwed my system up, and it can be restored to the way it was before the installation of 3.1.
BTW, thank you all for clarifying that OWB is an Internet browser; that explains why I was using it before to surf the net.
Again, the "start up messages" pop up right after booting up while attempting to launch OWB (yes, the web browser :smack: )
Running fresh installations of, either 3.0 or 3.1, would not solve the problems.
Today I ran fresh install of 3.0 and 3.1 and with both, I get a successful installation message at the end. System works OK, but this is also relative, because at times, I'm asked to install extra stuff that was not originally installed, such as PowerSDL.library and other X,powersdl.library needed to install Hurrican, for example).
So far, OWB is working after the last installation, and besides that, I've only installed Grunch and the game Neverball & Neverputt (becuase it comes with PowerSDL.library). Something tells me, that if powered the computer off, I will start over with this vicious cycle of things not working, until I do a new installation.
In case it is not clear, I cannot run a fresh new installation everyday just to squeeze a few ours of use until it craps out again.
