EasyGS (Free download)
« on: February 15, 2009, 10:49:49 PM »
EasyGS is a free PDF utility to view/print PDFs for Classic Amigas.  It is quick and easy to use and does not use MUI.  It can also be used with Amiga web-browsers such as IBrowse.

You can download it for free from amigakit.com here:

http://shop.amigakit.com/easygs/EasyGS.lha

You will need Ghostscript 8.60 installed first on your Amiga to use it here:

http://www.whoosh777.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

We use Amigas day to day to view/print PDF documentation, invoices and packing slips. We have developed EasyGS for use within our business as other utilities either crashed our Amigas or did not offer the compatiblity with PDFs that we required.  Hence we have released this version back to community as a gift, in the hope others will also find it useful.

If you wish to use EasyGS with IBrowse, then you can set it up in IBrowse's MIME settings as shown here:

So when you click on a PDF on a webpage, EasyGS will automatically launch and allow you to either view or print the PDF.

Wow!  Thanks amigakit!  I've downloaded it but not able to use it at the moment due to Amiga in storage.

Just wanted to say thank you.

Would be interesting to hear what your total downloads end up being.

No problem, we found EasyGS useful for direct printing our PDF forms from the webstore with Ibrowse- hope you make some use of it when your Amiga is back up and running.

You may want to download it again later. Further updates are planned and will be provided based on user feedback.

Thanks.

Just made some small changes to the GUI and re-uploaded.  Here is a current picture of EasyGS:

I used to live about 20 minutes from Astoria :)

I'm guessing this requires WB 3.1 at least?

Thank you, Amigakit!

This gives me the impetus to install GS8.6 at last.

Thanks for this  :-)

Apdf is completely oudated on the classic. Will download and try this, thanks! I've tryed ghostscript in the past but it keept crashing... Didn't go much further to try to fix it, maybe raising the stack would've made a difference...
