HighGFX is pretty quick, especially when you're running FBlit. Here is a video of me running some programs on Workbench on an A1200 030/50 in 1024x768 HighGFX mode

That's impressive. Is that using one of your carefully dithered 16-colour modes?

Yeah it sure is. The blurriness of the camera hides the dithering a bit, but it still looks pretty neat for 16 colours, especially at that high resolution. Good thing though is if people think it looks okay, then it should look almost as good in 800x600 on an ECS machine.

Thanks for posting that. that looks plenty fast for what I'll be doing. I'm about to have my first real A1200 that I've had in a while. I'll have to try out fblit as well.

Don't forget FScreen and FText too.

Hey Goose,

How does the HighGfx on the Indivision mode compare to running DblNTSC
on a regular RGB-VGA adaptor speed wise?. I remember DblNTSC being slower
on an 030/AGA but it was fine for Octamed and programs that let you choose screen modes.

Well I will agree with Cammy, HighGfx is plenty usable, and a nice screen. I use 32 or 64 colors for WB. But I think just because DblNTSC is a smaller real-estate, it might be quicker.

BUUUUT , to the topic, 800x600 would be a great screen for the Indivisions. Will we get that when new MKII version comes out you think, Cammy ? Will it work with the older cards?

I think it's entirely up to Jens if he wants to release the new firmware for everyone or not. I'm sure a lot of people bought Indivisions under the impression that they'd be able to use these 1280x1024 and 800x600 resolutions, but it's been over a year since we've had a firmware update. I'm not really getting my hopes up anymore, it could be a good reason for us all to scrap our Indivision AGA MK Is and buy MK IIs to replace them. (Not that all of us can afford this)

Let the man breath a while I am sure he will release them. Seems like they have been working 48 hours a day pumping out turbo boards and answering support for 1 month :)

That was snappy for AGA, it has to be said. I used to use a 16-colour mode with CGX-AGA before I got an RTG card (this was on OS 3.5), which basically seemed to do most of what FBlit did but also allowed RTG software that would work with 8-bit screens to run on AGA. It was fairly quick, but your demo there seems snappier than I remember.

CGX-AGA was also ppc only if I recall correctly ?
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.

FText requires FBlit 3+ to work, you might be thinking of Systempatch as it has similar features.

Nope, but it did come with PPC. There weren't any PPC accelerated functions in there (which was a bit of a disappointment). It did modify the allocation of BitMaps and so on to ensure their cache friendliness.

SuperPlus is still under development.
IndivisionECS will support it with next coreupdate.
At the moment I am working on the final dualscreenmode.
I am sorry, but I lost some time with the automatic monitorswitch project.
SuperPlus will be finished before I start anything new ...

Seems like the first indivision aga will be abandoned for next fw updates?
