Description: My A500, the first and rare version according to the (in)famous Doomaster which I don't doubt What makes this A500 model differ from the later one's is that it has a square C= logo carved into the case and the left Amiga key has a commodore logo, the power light is red and finally the keyboard keys has a different "soft touch" compared to later A500's and Made in Germany...a word Doomy would love to hear Picture Stats: Views: 2420 Filesize: 146.63kB Height: 768 Width: 1024 Posted by: Amigaz at July 29, 2006, 04:38:43 PM Image Linking Codes

boing4000 Posts:222 | May 17, 2008, 02:55:12 PM My first A500 Rev.5 also has this kind of keyboard (german one) with green drive and red power LED that could turn 100% off without dimming! also it has a C= key on the left. but the C= logo was a labeled one. I still have it and its working fine after so many years all later A500 had the newer keyboard (green power and yellow drive) with both Amiga keys and dimmed power LED |

ami_junki Posts:267 | January 16, 2008, 07:24:19 AM My Amiga 500+ had a softer keyboard than the earlier models ... I wonder if that model came out first in Germany? |
AMC258 Posts:877 | February 02, 2007, 03:24:31 AM Every A500 I've had (lots) had the moulded C= logo and red Power LEDs with green floppy LEDs. I do have an A2000 which has a silver C= sticker, and a green power light and yellow floppy light. All my other 2000s are like my 500s. |
Lockon_15 Posts:304 | August 07, 2006, 06:44:50 AM This is Rev3 machine. Comes with Kickstart 1.2 / Workbench 1.2, I have one of these acquirred for $5. Still working like charm... |
adolescent Posts:3056 | August 02, 2006, 03:11:32 AM I thought they usually had a sticker on the NA models. Is the raised C= logo under the sticker? I have never seen one without (unless it was the rectangle sticker...) |
Ilwrath Posts:2199 | August 01, 2006, 03:43:10 PM The C= pressed logo on the case isn't that rare for North America. Most of the A500s that came with AmigaDOS 1.2 (and rev 5 motherboard and before) had that case and red power LED. The C= key instead of a L-Amiga key is something you don't see 'round these parts, though. ;-) In fact, the only time I EVER saw one was on an A500 a friend of mine brought over from Poland. |
PaSha Posts:537 | July 30, 2006, 12:11:57 PM My brother used to have one of these as well, presumably one of Norways first A500s (he bought it used, though) since it had a German keyboard. IMHO having a C= key and a single Amiga key makes more sense than two Amiga keys. -Paul EDIT: It seems to be in a pretty good (ie non-yellow) condition as well, congratulations! |
