This is getting a tad creepy...Uh, can we talk about the NatAmi...

Ya, know. It'd be nice if they sent out review boards. Just saying.

It is not ready for the mass market yet.  The pics there with Anika are of the second prototype board produced.

"second prototype board produced."

So we are a ways off yet still. Well before the end of the year, be marketable?

@TheGoose

That's what we're aiming for.

As a correction, this is the second MX board prototyped produced.  The team members will get first dibs also.  The reason Anika got to play with it is that she's Gunnar's daughter.

What's the current ballpark price for the board when it is ready?

That depends on the configuration.  I think the MX board configuration will cost about 800 Euros, plus it looks like he has the 68060 turbo board which costs extra.

The only thing different between the final build of the MX board and the current build is the size of the FPGA.  The factory that produces the FPGAs is in an area in Japan that got hit by the earthquake and tsunami so that's setting back the production schedule.

Hmm. 800Eus = 1182.72 USD. I just gotta sell some stuff to make it mentally easy. It is soo cool though.

Nice...

800 euro sounds a bit expensive though.
If I was single with no kids it would have been a no brainer (I would then also spend lots of time here spamming forum with first post nonsense), but it is 2011 and things are a bit different.

@thread

SamuraiCrows figure is just a rough guesstimate for a smaller production run of boards. But yes, the component situation looks a bit grim because of what happened in Japan, and that tends to push up prices.
That would be for a version with all the bells and whistles, but there is nothing saying we won't do additional board versions with less features for cheaper end prices. Nothing is decided yet, because we are still at the development stage. But keep your eyes open, since a lot of things are happening for us right now :)

When you consider the average price on eBay for an 060 board (£280 & upwards) then try finding a SubWay USB board (£70 and upwards) and all the other bits n bobs you'd need to match the NatAmi then to me 800 Euros is a reasonable price and I sure as hell want one of these little beauties... :)

It's moments like this that make Pound Sterling worth all the other crap we Brits suffer almost tolerable. :)

I would actually not be surprised at all if our production costs per board are higher than the production costs of an X1000 board. But I dunno if that says more about A-Eon than us ;)

My vote for Queen of Amigaland has to go to CAMMY...

Or we could compromise and vote Cammy our Amiga of Queensland! :) I bet she'd like that title too.

(Yea, I know, she's actually from Oz, but that's close enough for me. ;) )

800 was minus an '060 card though according to the figure SamuraiCrow gave. Bare in mind though that SamuraiCrow and Forcie arent really involved in the project minus some moral support so it may be better to wait until people other than the "fan club" (for lack of a better phrase, not intended to be derogatory) speak up.
Near as I can tell this is where I write something under the guise of being innocuous, but really its a pot shot at another persons/peoples choice of Amiga based systems. Unfortunately only I cant see how transparent and petty it makes me look.
