I definitely remember this, I was so impressed reading about it that when I saw it for £22-something instead of nearly £50 I bought it although I didn't have an Amiga! Sure enough soon I had my first A500 v1.2

Like others have said I was blown away as "computers can't do music like THAT" :-)

My second game was Xenon.

Talin, the guy behind the Faery Tale Adventure game is still around doing cool things. He worked on a MIDI sequencer for BeOS, so who knows he may be around to do something cool.. I was thinking a Remix of Faerie Tale Adventure would be cool. What do you think?

Game's he's worked on..

OMG! That was one of the 1st games I got with my Amiga 1000. I played it on a 12 inch B&W TV.

Still loved the game. I still have the disc and binder stored away!

I was playing that game last night - when the bad doods catch up to me it scares the hell out of me
then they kill me and it scares me more!

Thanks for reminding me of this classic. It was really one of the first Amiga games I saw on the Amiga, even though I wouldn't have an Amiga of my own for years after that...

That game is great! It's surprisingly well done when thinking of its age. There is a huge map, a lot to to do, day/night, RPG elements...and one guy made it all!

The only things I would complain are a bit boring graphics (but they work ok) and frequent battles.

I think I'm gonna finish this game some day   :-)

remember it was done in ~1986! so the graphics were probably seen as quite good back then :-)

the huge map was one of the best parts!! i just love plenty of space to explore - day/night was good too, a bit more realistic

the battles were a bit annoying especially for beginners and players with few/bad weapons - i remember running around for hours from bad guys! because i knew i couldnt kill them!

Yes, it's extremely well done for its age. And save-load feature!

I found a hand-drawn map and tips for FT in early computer magazines. I think the map might spoil fun but I don't have time to explore it all by myself anyway  ;-)

The game seemed extremely hard to get into, but that jade skull in town might help one to get better weapons in the beginning. And there seems to be a lot of chances to cheat but I don't like cheating so I am not going to touch those tips yet  :-D

Any other good RPGs for Amiga? On some page which featured Faery Tale and its successor (for PC), was a mention about Legend of Faerghail (sp?), which was apparently made by Olaf Barthel!

PS. Darth_X, I must agree with you (maybe the first time) - I'd like to see a remix too. But maybe the sequel (Halls of Dead or something?) does the job. Does anyone have an idea what Dafel: the Bloodline would have been?

Ah the venerable Faery Tale Adventure. The wonderful memories. Anyone also play Daggerfall and Entomorpgh, also very well done RPGs.
