Battery leakage once again...
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: I finally got a memory expansion for my A600. However, it looks like not only the "big box" AMIGAs are suffering from a common problem: Battery leakage. :-( Unfortunately, not only the battery is affected, but also the part next to it (see red arrow). I would like to replace that one also. Does anyone have this expansion and know what part this is? I guess it could be a capacitor, but it is badly oxidized so I can't really see what it is, let alone what value. The expansion board is an Alfa Data "A600 1M RAM CARD". a1200 Posts:515 | April 21, 2009, 11:23:08 PM Yeah its best to replace with a CR3032 lithium cell (you can get PCB mounted holders), or not bother having a battery at all, if all you do is play syndicate and worms, why does the date and time need to be right? ;-) |

Andeda Posts:594 | November 22, 2007, 07:34:57 PM Lets hope you can manage to get it to work, those memory expansions for A600 are very hard to find. |

But not so much fun :-D |
DrDekker Posts:325 | November 22, 2007, 01:06:43 PM They're available from here ESR UK for 39 pence each (+ VAT & postage) Order code: 760-001 Much cheaper than robbing one from a dual core mobo. |
Chain Posts:1324 | November 21, 2007, 09:09:44 PM no voltage mentioned anywhere, there are only parameters: capacity, frequency and resistance. im sure there is only few volts, nothing to worry about. |

What about the voltage? |
Chain Posts:1324 | November 21, 2007, 03:43:30 PM mean really OLD, not p4 boards they are usually same value 32.768khz its actually also on dualcore boards too http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASRock/939SLI32-eSATA2/images/board_fullsize.jpg look near sata connectors |
Colani1200 Posts:707 | November 21, 2007, 01:18:24 PM Ah... so it probably belongs to the battery backupped clock!? Are there different electrical values for this thingy? Had a quick look at an old broken P4 mainboard, but didn't find anything similar on it... |
Chain Posts:1324 | November 21, 2007, 12:52:06 PM that destroyed thingy is watch-type crystal just replace it, they are on all old pc motherboards  or buy a new for few pennies http://www.ges.cz/?page=index&or=sort&ipp=12&lang=cz&cur=CZK&gcat=X4&of=1&inc=detail&gesid=GES05200092 |
