New Forum -- Amiga on eBay
« on: January 07, 2003, 10:18:24 PM »
New forum online for the posting and discussion of for-sale Amiga items on eBay (and other places).  If you don't like eBay but want to sell something, post it here.  Who knows, you might get lucky.

NOTE: We at Amiga.org do not endorse nor assume responsibility for the actions of Amiga.org member sellers.  As usual in life, buyer beware.

Erm,

I don't want to wee on anyones fire, but whereas annoucing/discussing eBay auctions is fine, should we really be taking trade from AmiBench ?

(Not saying we should or shouldn't, just asking...)

Who's taking business from Amibench?  Certainly not us.  If someone wants to post "hey, this is for sale on Amibench", then I'm all for it.

FYI, as you'll note on the left hand side near the bottom, we are working on installing a new classifieds module which might help some people sell their Amiga stuff.

As always, when they sell their products at least one or more people out there would scam.  But, there ARE laws to prosecute those who violate them.  Ebay also sets up rules against scamming.  I can tell you this--if it wasn't for Ebay, I wouldn't be able to sell my rare items.  Seriously!

Wow, talk about professional, the amiga 3000T must be professional, as well as many other models of amiga.  I recently acquired an A3000T amiga.  I did so because of a lady that came to the computer store that I worked at and she sold it to me as is for $50 (long story).  Our store used to deal Amigas back in the late 80s-early 90s.  In fact my boss told me he was one of the distributors that got sent a letter asking him if he would like to place a bid for Commodore in 1994 when it went bankrupt.  Anyway, his wife/my other boss, worked at a nuclear power plant near this area for a while and she told me, when she saw the machine, that those were the computers that ran the programs for the actual nuclear reactors.  now talk about professional.  I was thinking about this and then it occured to me, who would want M$ software to run a nuclear reactor?  They wanted a machine that wouldn't crash or generally f*ck up to run these dangerous machines and I for one feel quite proud that they chose Amiga.  Whether it was A3000s or A500s, that says a lot about our beloved Amiga.
