good old English Pounds

so which currency will the Welsh, Scots and Northern Irish be using then? Groats?
I'm not trying to just needlessly nitpick (and I can tell you, I am an expert at that as well) but things like this might piss off your UK customers who don't live in England.

Bah. If people are offended by that sort of thing, then let them jump off a cliff. :-(

Well, the pound is actually English currency isn't it? Same as the English language also has it's origins in... ummm.. England.  Nobody gets offended at that, so I don't see why anyone should be offended at the term "English Pound".  Besides, AmigaKit is actually based in Wales so I very much doubt there's any intension to cause offense!

Why should anyone care about the Scots, Welsh and Irish ?  All they do these days is whinge about the English ... I think it all stems from them being conquored (repeatedly) all those years ago ;-)

The Scottish banks issue currency in Scotland. So you could argue that they aren't English pounds, as they don't have 'Bank of England' emblazoned across them.
Anyway, ask any Scot that's got supsicious looks for trying to spend a Scottish note in England...

They are legal tender here of course.

The Irish pound isn't used anymore so now we can simply say pound.  Even before, though, British or UK would have been more accurate: The currency symbol is GBP, Great Britan Pound (which leaves out Northern Ireland, which in the long term *might* go euro, even if the Brits never do!)
