Description: There seems to be a lot of questions as to the fitting of an internal A1200 scandoubler. Hopefully these pics should solve them. I've noticed in day-to-day operations that the display is great in NTSC or PAL screenmodes, with games, and when dragging screens, using my 19" ViewSonic. However with the metal shield in place and the case all buttoned up, it tends to get VERY hot, which I believe is a reason several of my keyboard keys have stopped responding. | October 14, 2003, 06:50:58 AM @Oldsmobile_Mike It's a difficult situation, because the hard drive also sits right above the hot chips... making the heat situation even worse. But after several hours sitting under the drive, the chips surface temperature will barely crest 40C, which isn't really *that* bad (of course YTMV). -edit- Actually...after doing more thorough checking, some of the chips on the SD can get closer to 50C or above...which is a bit warm. Warm enough for a small exhaust fan anyhow.. |
