Commodore KX-10 midi keyboard help

I have just bought a Commodore KX-10 midi keyboard, does anyone know if it works with amigas and where to get the software for it as it came with none.

I got a couple of hits on google but only for others requiring the software, i'm new to midi so haven't a clue.

MIDI is a standard for musical instruments.
Get a MIDI-interface for your Amiga, and a program to
communicate with it, like OctaMED (SS) or Music-X.

Ok, I saw a picture of the MK-10 on googles images.

I'd say it was a generic product that escom licensed the Commodore name for.  There were phones and everything licensed at the time.

The chicken lips is different from the traditional Commodore logo.

First, you need a midi interface for the Amiga, which the most common are Parallel Port Midi interfaces.  I think, but am not certain, that the Deneb (and maybe Highway/Subway variants) USB card supports USB Midi devices under Poseidon.

After you have a MIDI interface for the Amiga, then you can hook the Amiga and MIDI keyboard together with standard 5-pin DIN MIDI cable.

Software on the Amiga can allow the Amiga to send MIDI notes to the Keyboard (hooking up a MIDI cable from the MIDI OUT on the Amiga, and to the MIDI IN on the keyboard) or to input notes on the keyboard and have them be played or recorded on the Amiga (hooking up a MIDI cable from the MIDI OUT on the keyboard, to the MIDI IN on the Amiga).  If you've got two MIDI cables, you can transfer MIDI information in both directions.

It's the serial port actually. MIDI uses a different connector and voltage to RS232, other than that the usual baud rate is a little weird (a lot of serial ports can't do 31.25K baud).
 
You could probably built a midi interface for the Amiga with IN & OUT using some connectors and a max232 chip. You could probably add THRU as well but you'd probably have to start following the spec a little more closely in terms of isolation.

Yeah, get a serial port MIDI adapter for the Amiga and some capable software and you're set. Looks like the MK-10 is only a controller, so it doesn't make any noises on its own, it just sends MIDI note/controller data to the host.

Yep, it is just a controller. Works fine for Octamed/musicX etc. and mssiah on the C64.

Although very basic, works Better than using the computer's keyboard.

   oops sorry i have just bought one too ,and ranted on about the commodore MK 10  thinking yours was a Commodore KX-10 midi i hope i havent hi jacked your post ,mine  was just a refference in my Hisoft amiga interface post and i too was asking the same questions as yourself ,when mine arrives i will be looking to you if i cant get mine working lol ,good luck with yours ,best wishes Brian.
