Title: X1000 gfx card recommendation for Enhancer 2.1

Hi, can someone recommend a graphics card for my X1000 that will work with the new Enhancer 2.1 that will support all 3D functionality including the new Warp3D Nova stuff and new video acceleration (eg. for the new DV Player)? I'd like to be able to run the older Warp3D PPC demos and games, as well as have support for the new 3D stuff + the video acceleration.

I understand that a Radeon 270x might be a good card, but I am unclear if it also supports all of this functionality.   And I understand the RX cards will not work in an X1000 because it would require an update to the X1000 firmware which may never happen.

Great question, hopefully someone will comment in this thread what’s the best GPU in 2022 for the X1000 & the X5000.

I don't know about the latest and greatest nowadays but my Radeon HD7950 plays all the latest games and Huno's awesome ports just fine on my X1000.

I'm not sure how up-to-date this article (http://www.hdrlab.org.nz/projects/amiga-os-4-projects/radeonhd-driver/radeonhd-card-recommendations-for-amigaos-4-x/) is, but it comes directly from Hans de Ruiter and speaks directly to your question.

For X1000 you need to buy just on of the possible faster RadeonHD : probably something like 270x or 290x , etc.

Then, together with all latest drivers you will be able to use Warp3Dnova stuff.

Then, to watch old PPC demos you will need ReWarp and ReWarp3D libraries (warpos libs, old ones which come with os4 by default do not fits anymore) and NovaBridge library, which currently in betatesting, so you need to wait for. Also you will need to wait a bit for RadeonHD next release where video acceleration also will be supported through GPU as in case with RadeonRX.

To summorize : for x1000 buy fast RadeonHD, and wait a little bit more :)

Hmm these 270 cards still aren't cheap... :-/
