A1200 with bad aerial connection??? :-p
« on: November 08, 2003, 06:25:20 PM »
COMMODORE AMIGA A1200 COMPUTER/CONSOLE IN VERY GOOD COSMETIC CONDITION (IT IS AN ORIGINAL WHITE ONE, NOT YELLOW!)

COMES WITH POWER PACK, MOUSE, AERIAL CABLES (NOT VERY GOOD)

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE POWERED UP THE COMPUTER SUCCESFULLY BUT WHEN LOADING SOFTWARE I SEEMED TO ONLY GET A BRIGHT RED OR BRIGHT YELLOW SCREEN

I PERSONALLY THINK THIS IS DUE TO A BAD AERIAL CONNECTION

Maybe it has been mounted in a boeing 747?  :-)

It may be one of the very very first A1200s produced, these had a problem with the modulator. I had one of these very first ones and used it with an RGB monitor. When the modulator news broke and I checked mine, sure enough - terrible 8-O

These were the days of "put in your own HD and you void the warranty". I had and did, so I had to haggle to get the motherboard replaced rather under a third party warranty.

I was going to say that you would hope that no-one would fall for that crap but I just looked and it seemed that no-one did!  It seems a shame that people who don't know better can be fooled by such scams.  Not much can do, though.  How pissed off would you be?!

easy
Red = ROM Error
yellow = CPU error
Green = chip RAM
Blue = custom chip error

ROMS might be loose.
