automatic is to hard to create. i think manual internal switcher will be good enough.

Yep.

I use a manual switcher with my A4000 to toggle between the ScanMagic SD/FF display and the Cybervision 643D Workbench.  The problem with an automatic switcher is how would it know if I want to see the native SysInfo display or my RTG IBrowse screen?  If you need to toggle it via the keyboard then there's no difference between that and reaching out to twist a dial instead.

Yes.
But if you not use two display at one time, may be its possible to detect, when AGA active or not, and switch only if active...
Anyway I prefed manual too.
But at this time i use big and not very comfortable external switcher. (And 4 port kvm, to switch between my 3 pc and 3 amiga, and external tv-tuner for old consoles) :(((

Nice but a bit pricy.  How about a pre-order discount?  If it was $99 CAD I would buy two.  At $186 CAD each..not sure I will even buy one.

@AmigaKit

I'm also waiting a long time now for a status update on my returned (under warranty) Kickflash...ticket #1645 and #1376...

That's really great news Jens, congrats on the new products  :-D

I assume this screen mode will also work with 1200's?

Nice product once again.

Shame the design was not made into a Zorro card so that it could one day become a full blown RTG gfx card.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of sales, particularly from those without gfx cards or with Mediators.

It sort of leaves us Picasso IV owners in a bit of a dilemma though.

Yes, it will. The specs of the 1200 and the 4000/CD32 version are identical. Any firmware/software update for one version also applies to the other.

I dont really see the point with this one, it's only usefull for those rare native 1280x1024 5:4 aspect monitors (alllthough, I do have two of them), and it will eat more precious chip ram. I'm much more interested in a working 800x600 mode (4:3 aspect - Super72 doesnt work well), so that apps like HivelyTracker can run full screen.

Also, I have yet to find a way to get PAL display to stretch out vertically.

HivelyTracker on 1024x768:
http://amiga.nvg.org/moro/Indivision_AGA/hivelytracker.jpg

SYS:Prefs/Overscan of PAL, notice the black bar ontop:
http://amiga.nvg.org/moro/Indivision_AGA/overscan-pal.jpg

Same with NTSC, no such bar here:
http://amiga.nvg.org/moro/Indivision_AGA/overscan-ntsc.jpg

And with 640x512 workbench, default settings with border both above and below:
http://amiga.nvg.org/moro/Indivision_AGA/workbench-640x512.jpg

Same annoying borders when playing slamtilt:
http://amiga.nvg.org/moro/Indivision_AGA/slamtilt-fixed.jpg

... and worms dc:
http://amiga.nvg.org/moro/Indivision_AGA/worms2.jpg

Any tip on how to get rid of these borders? I've tried altering the timing values, but only manage to change width, or the monitor ends up with "signal out of range".

I dont quite grasp the "output is always over 60Hz" vs. "Fallback to legacy flickerfixer-type 49.9Hz modes at the user's choice" - where/how do I chose this?

Yes I expect chipram to take another hit but it's still nice to have the option.  I'm not sure if it's technical possible to build some FBlit type magic into HighGFX to make it use some fast-ram instead of chip-ram.

I already asked the author of HighGFX if he would be developing an 800x600 mode but he didn't think it would offer anything over the Super72's 800x600 mode...shame.

AS to your border issues, I'm afraid that's down to your LCD monitor.  You really can't beat a 4:3 CRT for displaying Amiga modes

Does it use up a lot of ChipRAM or any ChipRAM? That would not be good for Video Toaster 4000 systems if it did.
