Well, only thing left to do, is to buy an one Amiga 3000 desktop, covert it to ATX and change the Amiga 3000 plate to AmigaOne and I'll be all set to go. :-D

That must be the best AmigaOne case, so far.  ;-)
Q: What days are/was the best of all time?
A: Commodore days!

It shouldn't be too difficult to make a low-end classic-looking Amiga box by using one of those new PC cases that look like the A1200 (I forget where I've seen them, but they're out there), gluing a badge that says "Amiga" on it, and replacing the appropriate keys with "boing ball" keys (or keys that look like the standard Amiga keys) ... 8-)

Does anybody remember those "ICE CUBE" style cases that seem to be in the news a while ago?

Anyone know where to get those?  (I realise that's not much to go on).

Alternatively can anybody recommend any sites?

I buy most of my components (including cases) at www.directron.com  They have a full cubic buttload of cases to choose from.

All it would really take is a single peice of plastic. You know how every computer has inserts to cover unused 5 1/4 inch bays. Amiga could produce a universal cover, which would fit any case, with the word "Amiga" and the official logo. It would only be sold with an AmigaOne motherboard or packge containing a motherboard. That would identify any Amiga system regardless of the case.

Zzzz

Create your own cases!!

Just buy an Amiga keyboard.

Amiga "Make it yours"

Maybe Amiga should be pioneering the new optical processors.

Any thoughts??

In Australia, Anything Amiga, has Case moding stuff and, on their Cases page: a range of nice cases including:
° Frost ATX Case in silver gray.
° Neon Blue ATX Mid Tower.
° Noki ATX Case with silver front.
° Pinpoint ATX Case with (or w/o) transparent side ...
° Transparent Blue ( acrylic clear midi tower ... )
° Xaser II 5000 Plus
° Xaser II 6000 Plus Aluminium

Aparently, my A1 is to be in the Pinpoint ATX Case and have a 'Boing Key' Keyboard:

(BTW - the LINK in Paul's post five down has been changed... it should be this one:)

Better still: buy an empty A3000T-case...
I once bought three such cases; one now houses my A1200/060, in the other one is my A4000/040 and guess what the third one is meant for? It is truly an impressive sight, these Three Towers.

Amigis in The Netherlands may still have got A3000T-cases for sale. Cheap, too! But very expensive to sent abroad, I am afraid.

Umm, what I want is a micro-ATX desktop A1 actually, but I can't see that happening right now. I like the desktops better, feels "more" Amiga, the others feels like PC and "other" computers am I afraid.

Hey! Three towers?? Wasn't it "the Two Towers" that is coming to the Big screen just before X-mas? :-D  :-P

@gary_c

"Amiga, Inc. doesn't seem to have thought this one through, apparently not wanting to impose additional restrictions on their partners, or not realizing the benefits."

Insightful observation. Perhaps someone with some entrepreneurial savvy will take this as a hint and approach Amiga about licensing.

I just had the opportunity to check out one of Shuttle's compact SS51G 'XPC' systems today and it was very nice. Brushed aluminum finish, interchangeable coloured faceplates, whisper quiet with virtually no heat dissipation using a P4.

At the moment they have Pentium and AMD case/motherboard designs, but if you can meet the form factor it's very cool:

Shuttle XPCs

Not very expandable, but with integrated audio/video/NIC and an AGP/PCI slot it's nice.

I was so impressed with a link to a case that Vortexau posted that I ordered the same case as his link   It was delivered yesterday and it sure is beautiful.

I was curious by the mention of a "cubic buttload" of cases supposedly available at directron.com, so I took a peek - and found this little guy:

I love it! it's not quite the frozen case but pretty close  :-D

The_Editor:

Xaser is not only a beatiful case, if you look at the PC hardware review sites this case is also recommended for its built quality. The PSU is supposedly of a very good quality too.

@The_Editor,
So, are you intending to place any internal lighting behind the side window? I LOVED that case but I've placed myself in too much dept already.

But that 'Xaser II 5000 Plus' wasn't the only case with transparency.

° Pinpoint ATX Case with transparent side ... (( Getting THIS one )):
mid-range 'M' System
and there's that:
° Transparent Blue ( acrylic clear midi tower ... )
BUT, while novel, its easy to damage (read about the kid gloves) and doesn't block EMF.

Yeah .. I intend in putting a red cathode inside,  and in between the front fascia and chassis I'm gonna put a blue one...  so a nice blue glow eminates from the cooling vents !!

On the subject of PSU's  this one DIDN'T come with one !! So I'm gonna install an enermax 430watt with twin silent fans.

And on the subject of fans ... This case comes with FIVE silent fans aready installed !! ( Wifes gonna be moving the frozen veggie into it!!)

Finally ... Yes John,  Your've chosen a nice tower as well!!

@ The Editor;
I've been looking at Christmas Lights in the letterbox catalogues!
Those little lights are a whole lot cheaper than the Neon (or cathode) kind!  :-)
BTW, with ALL those fans (knew about those), any heat caused by lighting wouldn't matter.

Well, I would have liked to build a Really Big Computer case ..... such as would fit between two walls, be about six foot high, and would have a ladder attached to each side!

Then, when anyone criticized the size of my computer .........

I'd just say:"Well, you just have to get OVER it!"  :hammer:
