@nbache

Not yet, there are a few small enhancements and bug fixes applied apart from the ARM native graphics optimisation work.   They will probably be converged into a later unified update along for all platforms.

@Boing-ball

Thank you

Every supported Pi has WiFi included, yes.
Exception:
CM4 can be obtained without Wifi, that is bad decision making in hindsight.

Some have different chips so you might encounter a not-yet supported one, hence the alpha test.

@TribbleSmasher
Thanks for the explanation.

This product is now late, after announcements that it would be released in Q1 2024! No price has been mentioned either. Apart from the 9 pin joystick ports, is it any better than an A500 Mini?

My main problem with the A500 Mini is that there seems to be no Workbench system which enables files to be exported or imported. They're just closed lha files with no Internet connection. I haven't updated the firmware yet because of Pandory, but I now plan to, because there are new Pandory versions. This might enable me to run an ADF based Workbench, then save files onto blank ADFs.

As for including a new version of Personal Paint, it seems there's no proper, detailed manual for Personal Paint anywhere! This is why I've hardly used it.

In some recent graphics conversions from Internet downloads of jpeg files from my MacBook onto my Amiga A1200 using Personal Paint, I only had 128 or 256 colours available, but the original files contained about 16,800,000 colours, which is about the same as the Amiga A1200 palette! From the list of display modes in the old Personal Paint, it has no HAM modes.

I wonder how I could just convert my reduced resolution jpeg files from the Internet into IFF files that can be loaded into Deluxe Paint with its detailed manuals?

I have finally managed to find and download a manual for Deluxe Paint V, but this is in German only, which I have managed to learn from BBC courses, as well as Berlitz, Conversaphone, "Amiga Magazin" and watching lots of German TV via satellite and streaming. I'm trying to create some artwork in the HAM8 modes, but I'm having problems with my 23 PIN Video port to SCART connected TV often showing a "No signal" message when one of various graphics modes is selected. All the necessary drivers seem to be installed under Monitors, though.

Amigakit are are supposed to be launching this at Kickstart02. Has Kickstart02 come and gone yet? If not then that’s when you get to see it 😉

Does it bring anythiong to those of us who already bought it and are running 7.3c on NG Amigas/OS4.x?

Best regards,

Amiga OS / Re: AmigaOS Classic - Solid Window Dragging

can the program be modified so that it does not drag the window from the top two pixels of the upper window border?

Done :)

Is there a way to maybe reduce priority?

No, unfortunately not. Window movement is an asyncronous process. SolidWin only calls the function which tells Intuition that a window shall be moved. Intuition records this information and later executes it when it fits into its business, probably in the context of input.device.

Moving it over icons caused amigamp to cut out the module playing.

Window movement should not need such a lot of CPU. But it probably locks the screen for other drawing. So if AmigaAMP plays its music in the same task which updates the window, then window movement might stop it from playing. This cannot be bypassed by a priority change. AmigaAMP would have to be redesigned to play music independently from drawing.

PERSONAL PAINT 7.4 UPDATE: ARM NATIVE ACCELERATION FOR THE A600GS

A-EON Technology purchased rights to Personal Paint from Cloanto in 2014 which has led to notable development over the last decade for both Classic Amiga systems and Next Generation systems.

Personal Paint has a rich record of being bundled with home computers over the years. In 1996 PPaint 6.4 was part of the Escom's Amiga 1200 Magic Pack. Even more recently in 2016, PPaint 7.3 was bundled with A-EON's powerful X5000 computer system. In 2024 the tradition continues with a new version 7.4 being pre-installed on the forthcoming A600GS.   Read full news by clicking here

A-EON's latest update to this famous paint package accelerates 1080P and larger high resolution screens. 1080P is the resolution that most HDMI televisions operate at and the default screen mode of the A600GS. The drawing tools at this resolution would ordinarily be very slow. However they have now been significantly accelerated by using ARM native code.
The latest Personal Paint 7.4 from A-EON is ready-to-run on the A600GS and will bring a nostalgic paint package experience to modern 1080P televisions.

Trevor Dickinson, A-EON’s co-founder commented: “Personal Paint became the leading easy-to-use Amiga program for bitmapped graphics and animation and was one of the first to support AGA and RTG. We developed updated versions for both 68K and PowerPC, and it's great to see the ARM accelerated version joining the family."

Personal Paint 7.4 will be launched in Q2/2024 on the A600GS computer system.

Wifi with WPA2 works fine atm, i am sure there are some refinements to be made but so far it is the best solution, faster than PCMCIA and secure too.

The setup got included in the latest Caffeine 9275 too, it is even easier now, only two steps.:
Select your device
setup the WPA SSID and password.

If the SSID is hidden there is some text to be added in the wireless.prefs but that's about it.

@TribbleSmasher

I take it the Wireless part is something that’s already included on the Pi3 and above? Or do you need something extra?
