Sweet! It's a cheap PC motherboard in a case from someone else that looks nothing like a Vic-20 with a commodore badge on it!. Awesome you guys!

Which reminds me, how are those projections holding up? Have those tens of thousands of C64Xes popped up in major retail outlets yet? Flying off the shelves, I bet!

Judging by their forums, still having heat issues and non working keyboards, lol.  Lots of people have had to add fans to the 64 just to keep the wifi chips cool enough to work, or use a laptop cooling pad.

"I found the cause, the USB connector is not plugged.
I'm a little bit disapointed with this first impress... with custom tax, i pay near 800€ for this !   "

It is the problem with using a case design from the 80s...it looks cool, but there is a reason why designs have changed that go beyond mere appearance. It is hard to keep a system cool with the amount of heat generated. For example Apple uses an Aluminium build for their computers...yeah it looks streamlined, but really it acts as one giant heat sink for their computer.

It would have been better to build a C64 "inspired" case that made use of modern layout techniques than to try and build a duplicate that would require the voiding of warranties left and right just to make them work properly. I mean I have not owned either a PC or Mac since 2002 that would actually void the warranty if I looked under the hood. Hell both my Dell and Mac Pro would have been voided in the first day given that I usually install new after market components within a few hours of opening the box.

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/476649861/Special_All_in_One_Keyboard_PC.html found it!

I think this company just sticks a board in it. Dunno if they make the case. However if you look through the different models you can see the different angles of the case.

Epona makes PSU and other power supply components that C=USA purchases from them.  They do not make any other items in that AIO other then PSU.   The case is a generic form and they had OEM parts assembled by a third party that they are selling.

All the new systems will have pre-installed OSs with thousands of games.  If you don't like it, don't buy it.  Can't get much simpler then that.

In excess of 100K units (C64x and VICs including barebones) have been sold.  I doubt there will be big box in the near future but there are C=USA dealers springing up around the world.   They buy barebones model and customize it.

More information will follow in the coming weeks about the Commodore Amiga series.  They will be targeting high end home user and professionals.

Indeed we will be targeting the high end market with our genuine Commodore Amiga products. (Though quite how you know about our thus far secret projects I do not know!)

Several major European and Middle Eastern retailers have already taken pre-orders in the hundreds of thousands for the new Commodore Amiga 5000 machine we will be launching soon.

Keep an eye on the authentic Commodore Amiga site for more details in the coming weeks.

I guess this answers the question of the "Does the C64x promote piracy" thread. That would be "yes"

Sell one for $300 and I'd buy it.
