Been a while.....
« on: October 26, 2011, 05:01:11 PM »
Hi everyone
sorry for the absence but having kids kinda does that, Last time i was active we were all waiting for the amiga inc court battle with a never ending doom and gloom cloud hanging over head. Fantastic to see it turned the other way and the amiga scene has got fresh air and freedom.

Ive got a dilema with my miggy collection. Keep it in the loft for a day when i might have time for it or sell it and probably regret it. Anyone else been down this road?

If i sell i would want the whole lot gone in 1 hit not dribs and drabs. Got enough to fill an estate car.
A1200/PPC 240/040 25
Power Flyer or Fast ATA using CF drive
Mediator 1200
Voodoo 3
Soundblaster
Ethernet
tv card
Gotek usb drive
Kywalda board
all in a power tower OS 3.9 AND 4.0. :-D

You certainly won't get as much money selling as a lot rather than piece by piece.

I think the biggest questions is; will you come back later and try to reacquire things?
Based on the example in your sig, it will cost you significant time and money to repurchase them if you do decide to come back.

Ive got:
A1200T with fast ata, pci bus board, voodoo 3, ethernet card, soundblaster, cocolino, 040/240ppc card.
OS's 3.1 3.5 3.9 4.0 orignials
spare A1200 test rig with 8mb expansion
a few ide devices
cd32 joypad
various joysticks
amiga mouses
zip drives
zip disks
About a 1000 floppy disks maybe more (im the one hoarding them lol)
some original games
Manuals and books
Spare 2.5 and 3.5 hds and caddies for quick swapping
3 or 4 external floppy drives
and more bits and pieces, ive forgotten the rest.

The problems im getting is time and space cos the kids have nicked them both. Would rather the money than see it all rot away if i never get time for it. How long can it stay boxed in a loft? Will i ever get time again?

Questions only you can answer unfortunately.
I, personally, will always keep at least one classic Amiga machine.

Your a1200 should fetch a good price.

You could always run an emulator on your main computer to get your "Amiga fix".
Or even explore some newer options if you decide to get a dedicated system again. (AROS, MorphOS, OS4 systems, Natami, Minimig)
