Description: Found this on a Rev 6 A2000HD motherboard I was given as a spare when I recently bought an A2000. The original battery had been replaced with a phone battery which had then leaked again :-o :-(

| rkauer Posts:3263 | February 18, 2007, 07:48:33 PM You can use phone batteries, just solder it away the MB. In my still dead 2000 (Agnus issues) I dessolder the orig. batt (no leaks in 19 years!) and put a phone batt bolted outside the case. |

They should last years, but you've GOT to open up your Amiga every couple of years and check the state of things. I have a phone battery in my A2000....but I ran a wire a few inches so I can move it to another part of the Amiga not directly in contact with the motherboard! |
| Darklight Posts:263 | April 04, 2005, 11:40:18 AM Yeah, the previous owner didn't check it after replacing it with a 4.5v phone battery. AND, it was left with the acid sitting on it for a good while before I got it and cleaned it up. If I can get it working, I'll use the lithium hack on it :-( |
