That 040 card's georgous. A real shame it's not functional. It should have been shown at the time when working... Typical Commodore-Amiga cock up!

A real shame. Too bad these 030 and 040 boards didn't come to full fruition. It took an act of diligence, patience and lots of chip swapping to get an A3640 to work right in an A3000 desktop. Just more proof that the Commodore powers that be did not know what they truly had in the Amiga. Some of us are lucky to still have our Amiga's (friend) after all these years. Bravo!! It's nice to see all the good stuff in the Big Book.

Cheers!!

Yes, I can get one of my A3640s (I have 2 A3640s both updated to 3.2 and recapped) to work in one of my A3000s.  it work intermittently in the other A3000 and only using the motherboard clock, very odd.

Luckily the A3640 that will not work with my A3000s has a home in an A4000.

680040? Awesome! That would be like upgrading from a 6800 to a 68000 :-)
